Dragon killed my wife as we were walking out of Riften.

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 1:06 pm

Did the Mammoth Tusk quest for Ysolda in whiterun. Noticed she was admiring my aesthetics so I put on my amulet and pvssyd her up. Of course she was interested so we were set to get married. I headed over to Riften, set it up, and waited till tomorrow.

The wedding went great. I looked suave in my DB gear while she was looking decent in that standard dress. Special attire for weddings would've been a neat touch, imo. Anyways. Weddings over, she heads out the doors, as well as all of our guest so I follow. They all walk through Riften and out the front gate and I continue to walk with them.

Then it happens. Right outside the gate of Riften an Ancient Dragon decides it wants to throw down. I pull out my bow and start unloading into this dragon. I notice all the wedding guests are starting to fight the dragon but don't think much into it until after I kill it and notice a dead body lying on the ground. That body is of my dearest Ysolda. We hadn't even been married 20 minutes.

Of course I reloaded an old save from right before the wedding. This time I hit the wait button for 24 hours before leaving the church. Of course now, without me being a target outside, my wife makes it home.

Just thought I'd share my story of the shortest marriage i've ever been part of. :D

I think its silly that normal ppl are jumping to fight a dragon without a blink, they should be scared and run away, only guards and wariors etc. should fight them

Even guards should run away, those dad's army mofos aren't real soldiers.

That reminds me of my half an hour marriage to Uthgerd the Unbroken, after the marriage we went to Bleak Falls barrow and was slaughtered by a mix of Draugr and a fire trap at the same time. :sadvaultboy:

So true. True enough that I'll share my own story.

I married Lydia, my housecarl (like really, who doesn't know her). Obviously I had to use the console to make her interested, but we got married legit. So for about a month or two of in-game time she sat in my empty house on a bench 24/7. I used her for her shop and my daily allowance :hugs: . After a while, I decided Dwarven armor looked badass, so I made a new set (had one a while back) to replace my ugly Daedric. I decided that Lydia was cool enough to roll with me in the outdated (in enchantment) suit of armor, so I gave her the set and molag bal's mace.

As we hunted down dragons and tried to stop Alduin, we had to search for the elder scroll. As most of you will know, one is found in the MQ in a dwemer ruin. I lead her into the main cavern, and we start tearing up the constructs and falmer. After about 30 minutes of constantly running ahead of Lydia, I finally almost die to a duo of falmer deathstalker. I retreat and wait for Lydia to catch up. Then I notice something strange... Her Mace of Molag Bal looks somewhat similar to the default steel longsword... I check her inventory... Then I take my dwemer gear back and murder her right there on the spot. NO ONE LOSES MY WEAPONS.

So... Any suggestions on who I should marry now?

Especially because every damn one of them appears to have taken an arrow to the knee at some point.

lol this is why fast travel is a good thing. Just like FO3 if you are in the area other people can get killed as they travel around Skyrim. If you FT instead they will journey without you and be safe. It's your fault she's dead basically. :cryvaultboy:

Nice story dude, something similar happened to me but the dragon followed me into Riften and attacked when I left the temple, I had to punch it to death whilst Aela and the guards fired arrows into it.

How did she die?
I'm playing on master difficulty and stupid NPCs start to begformercy&recover when a dragon destroy them...then the beast just ignore them till they're up again, ready to fight...just to beg again 5 seconds later
Guards are missile batteries but they can die...townfolks and Kajhits outside towns exploit the game by begging the dragon lol
So, all in all, imho guards and immortal stupid npcs ruin dragon attacks on cities...

If I was a hardcoe RPer, I probably would not have reloaded and became a hardcoe dragon hunter.
