Anything I Should Know About Elder And Mcnamarra Before I St

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 4:50 am

I'm about to start the bos questline I am level 26 with veronica and rex in my party. I've heard of bugs related to this questline so any feedback would be much appreciated before I start this. Anything I can do or look out for so I don't get bugged out?

This. If you plan on following the NCR path, however, think long and hard about who you install as Elder, and remember that Hardin hates the NCR.

Most likely, yeah. Unless you want to be left with no other option but to destroy the Brotherhood later, that's it.

No I don't want to destroy the bos I want power armor/training. Hardin makes you destroy them?

No, but the NCR will demand that you destroy the Brotherhood. If McNamara remains the leader of the Brotherhood, then he will - when you've told him the situation - opt to negotiate forth a truce with the NCR by offering them the Brotherhoods support in the upcoming battle. With the truce in place, there's no need to destroy the Brotherhood. Hardin, however, will refuse any truce...

However, if it's the Power Armor training you want, you can get that and still destroy the Brotherhood. simply do their quests and you'll get that. Later on you can then destroy the Brotherhood with the NCR demands it...

Thanks for the very helpful post! One last question...if I don't destroy the bos power armor will always be available to buy where as if they are destroyed then it won't be available right? Do they sell anything else that I can't get anywhere but through them?

Err, as far as I know they don't actually sell any Power Armor, so... Still, unless you've got Jury Rigging or are prepared to spend a lot of caps for keeping your Power armor in top condition, it's worth keeping in mind that the BOS bunker is one of the very few sources of power armor in the game and thus one of the few souces of spare parts for any power armor you might pick up...

Does hidden valley/bos safehouse have lots of sets of power armor? I have a set of 45d and 51b that I got off a dead paladin in a crater and the other in dead wind cavern.

don't quote me on this, but i am pretty sure you cannot buy a gatling laser anywhere else, or the T51-b power armor. remember there are 2 types: the Brotherhood T51-b power armor(which means that if you head into an NCR camp, you may be attacked regardless of your rep with them. but wearing the normal T51-b armor sold by the Brotherhood, you should be fine. (at least that is how it has been for me.)

Well, I it does have about as many as the people you see wearing them, I guess, heh. and i think there's at least one or two sets lying around that can be stolen as well (not to mention that you'll be given one Power Armor when you've completted the Brotherhood quests and joined them.

Gatling lasers can be brought from those guys in Freeside, can't they?

Maybe it's worth to note that if a truce is established between the BOS and the NCR, the NCR won't attack you even if you're wearing the T51-b Power Armor...

I've seen the Gun Runners selling power armour late in the game.
