Rainbow Unicorn Attack!

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 4:12 am

Whenever I come across the unicorn guarded by two minotaurs, I have to steal it as a mount. I know you are supposed to kill it for a quest, but I can never bring myself to do it. It feels like it runs faster than horses, is pure white like Gandalf's horse, and has a horn for ramming people. Die minotaurs; this baby is mine. Who will admit to it as well?

Why can't we have a Bachelor of Arts degree AND be in the Unicorn Fan Club? I'm confused.

One character used it for a mount. Then when she rode it to Bravil a guard attacked it, so she punched the guard to death, and then the unicorn died anyway.

It's a nice mount that you can get for free, but there is the disadvantage that it will try to beat the [censored] out of you everytime your weapon is drawn, even if you're using the weapon to fend off an attacking wolf.

Hmm, i think my experience was due to Oscuro's oblivion overhaul or unique landscapes; my unicorn doesnt attack anyone even if their weapon is drawn anymore :)

Hmm, none of the poll options fit. My character does not ride, kill or attempt to tame the unicorn. The unicorn is magical, beautiful and belongs in the grove protected by the minotaur guardians. Besides, Buffy's too horse crazy about her precious mare Superian to ever consider another horse. http://i668.photobucket.com/albums/vv43/Acadian6/ScreenShot873.jpg

The second Oblivion mod I ever downloaded gave my characters armored Unicorns. The Vanilla Unicorn had a nasty habit of returning to the grove and getting killed.

My experience with that stupid thing lasted for about 10 min. When it started attacking me because I drew my weapon....I put it down. Shadowmare is FAR better, than 20 of those things.
Spoiler
She cannot be killed, you can knock her out and use her as a Pack Brahman. If you load her up with Healt Pots and food, she will use them. It's no contest.

As unicorns stand for pure good it′s senseless, borderline satanic, to kill it. Back in the day though I didn′t know that so I killed it. Today I would have simply left it alone

I sometimes, consider myself the eptiome of evil....um, in games of course. I would NEVER shoot a real Unicorn...Honest. I think the thing that turns me against them the most, is that "My Little Pony" mess. It has almost driven me to the brink of taking my own life. I dislike those things, almost as much as I dislike "Barney".

I realize, I am now a marked men and hated among the pony community. We'll...that's just too damn bad.

I tried to befriend a Unicorn once... It lasted maybe 10 minutes game time. That was almost six years ago.

You see, on my way back to the IC I was ambushed by goblins. And what would any reasonable response would be? Defense. Of course that mystical creature took some perverse offense to my logical reaction, and instead of aiding me in ridding our mutual threat, I found myself in defense from not just two goblins but an equally psychotic mount.

1 dead Goblin Shaman
1 dead Goblin Warlord
1 dead Unicorn
1 confused and depressed Nord

Another TES facepalm moment? Priceless.

Why can't we have a Bachelor of Arts degree AND be in the Unicorn Fan Club? I'm confused.

I know a friend of mine had a bad experience with the unicorn pretty quickly, but I ended up having mine for quite a while, which surprised me. I started a new game recently, but in my previous game the unicorn never really stopped being my mount, despite the fact that I ended up not using it much.

I never use the unicorn as a mount, as I am underwhelmed with how mounts are implemented in Oblivion. You cannot fight on horseback, or cast spells, and it is hard to pick alchemy ingredients. I could live with the last one, but the first two make things too much of a pain to have to dismount every hundred feet to fight another wolf or troll standing by the road.

Some would say it's not where you get a unicorn; it's where the unicorn gets you...

I can't wait all day for the thing to do a poor job of trying to defend me, only to have it turn on me when I try to defend myself.
I prefer to turn it in for something more useful.

Oui, I doubt I had the stupid thing longer than five minutes before I had to crack it's stupid Nazi skull open! You can keep your wretched unicorns!

Never been too much of a fan of riding in Oblivion anyway. Much prefer a good pair of boots.

^This.

I always leave the Unicorn there. Sometimes I'll go full Chameleon and just hang out in the Grove, admiring the Unicorn.
