Changes to playlist coming! [Updated 23/6]

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 10:21 am

When is this supposed to happen? I think its foolish to keep the "Classic" game type and get rid of "Pro" all together.

The whole reason we play this game over other FPS shooters is because of the dynamic that the Nano-Suit brings, if we wanted to play a game without Nano-Suits we'd play Call of Duty, Battlefield, or whatever else is out there.

Pro on the other hand adds an element that this game does need, fewer bullet kills. Sometimes it gets frustrating when you unload a whole clip into someone only for them to get away or worse - turn and kill you while you're reloading / switching weapons. It would be nice to be able to play Pro when you don't feel like unloading half a clip for every kill.

Also there is no reason to have both map packs separate from the normal set. At least merge the Retaliation map pack once Decimation comes out...

I like the idea of an Onslaught type game mode, but I think its a mistake to remove Team IA only mode from the expansions.

i thought it might have been part of the new patch. i dont mind waiting a bit longer if it means TIA/crash gets its own game mode within the dlc, cramming eveybody into onslaught will make the lobbys fill up quicker.imo it could make more people quit if they dont get the game they want meaning players might not bother going into it at all thinking it going to be CS/TIA all the time. i reckon what i put in my other post could work quiet well, let the players decide where they want to go and play.intergrate the dlc into normal map rotation too, keep pro drop classic.

please give each game type its own lobby, imo its crazy to put 5 game modes in one lobby to vote against each other.it was hard enough with 4 trying to get a game of what you want.
CS/TIA are 2 of the most popular game types, its crazy putting them up aginst each other.none of the other games have a chance.

if they cant be given there own lobbys then maybe something like already suggested.

if the 2 dlc packs and normal maps had the same layout as below that would be pretty good but with pro not classic.
2 slight changes away from possibly making alot of people happier.
please consider it:)

would any members agree or disagree?

Team Instant Action

· Standard
· New Recruits
· Remove “Classic”

Instant Action

· Standard
· New Recruits
· Remove “Classic”

Crash Site

· Standard
· Remove “Classic”

Onslaught (Capture The Relay, Extraction, Assault)

· Standard

I played a bunch of Onslaught today and it was great. Thanks Crytek. It's too bad the pro and classic modes are gone but I doubt any of us were even going to be able to play them anyway. On the other hand, single-life extraction would've been a lot of fun! Anyway I think the guys at Crytek UK have really put this game back on the map.

And I wasn't even able to play Classic or Pro games :(
I once set up my own Pro TIA on Parking Deck, the HUD was removed and there was a lot more atmosphere.

If your not willing to buy any packs, then you should have the "standard" game play.
STANDARD
New Recruits
Team Instant Action
Instant Action
Onslaught (Crash Site, Capture The Relay, Extraction, Assault)

If you buy the 1st map pack, you can only play with people that also bought it,
but once an original is picked, others can join too.

If you bought both, then others that did too.

For example, only these should be available, if you bought either one of these :

RETALIATION
New Recruits
Team Instant Action
Instant Action
Onslaught (Crash Site, Capture The Relay, Extraction, Assault)

DECIMATION
New Recruits
Team Instant Action
Instant Action
Onslaught (Crash Site, Capture The Relay, Extraction, Assault)

If "New Recruits" isn't available anymore, because your level 11,
it should disappear from your playlists.

If you bought all the map packs, the rotations should include every map, all 21 of them.

STANDARD (all map packs)
New Recruits
Team Instant Action
Instant Action
Onslaught (Crash Site, Capture The Relay, Extraction, Assault)

If it recognizes that certain people don't have a certain map, then it should combine those and put them into a separate lobby, on hold, and try to find one suitable, that corresponds with them.

For Example, the computer should notice " They picked a map, you don't have,
let me search another lobby that meets your requirements with their chosen level.

Crytek / EA,
I must say that your play list is really wrong ( for want of a better word).

1. First you need to look what the others are doing because it works. You need to make the game modes separate I.E Team Instant action, Instant Action, Crash Site, Assault, Extraction, Capture The Relay. This gives the player the option to choose what he or she wants to play, and this goes for all the DLCs also.

2. OK, you separate the DLC to cater for those who don't have it, but thats not smart you want to encourage players to buy the map pack. it will be smart to integrate the map pack in the normal play list, so they will have to buy the DLC. I must say almost all my friends that play this game with are complaining bitterly how STUPID it is not to put the DLC in the normal playlist. I my self are bored playing the same original maps over and over again, mind you i bought both map packs hoping that Crytek would wise up and do what every one else is doing ( e.g COD) and integrate the new maps into the normal play list.

3. There numerous bugs in the game as specially the MP part of it. These bugs ranging from WAY too much lag, squad breaking up ( the last patch did not fix this issue), weapons are not reloading ( this really f&%$ up) etc.

Finally i must say i like the game, its a change from COD that i play so often.

Regards,
waiting, hoping Crysis Player.

At this point, I think we should take a lesson from Halo: Reach. I'm fairly impressed with the Matchmaking system they have implemented.
Everyone has the option to search for specific game types and play in very specific ways...
However, there is a standard option that will list multiple game modes or "none of the above".
We could choose from and vote on:
TIA: Lighthouse: 0 Votes
IA: Impact: 1 Votes
CTR: Wall Street: 2 Votes
None of the Above: 3 Votes (in which case the screen would refresh and bring 3 new options)

This will help the other game modes get the recognition they deserve sometimes, through means of Vote, by forcing those players to "try it out".
Or.. it could all be in a Team-Based Category, with IA in it's own as well.
T-IA: Skyline: 2 Votes
T-CTR: Transit: 3 Votes
T-Assault: Terminal 0 Votes (I'm one of those poor players who haven't tried Extraction or Assault, so I don't know what Levels they use)
T-Extraction: Sanctuary: 2 Votes (lol, forgive me Crytek...)
None of the Above: 1 Votes

Players who don't quit the match early get a small but worthwhile Xp modifier.
Players who do quit too many times in a row will have to wait 10mins before they can re-join Matchmaking.
Players who do not have the same map packs are automatically not put into the same Matchmaking group. (Ideally, everyone with Original Crysis2 plays with Original Players, Retaliation players get both Original and Retal maps, and Decimation ppl get Original and Dec Maps... if you have more than one map pack then your tossed into a group who has more than one. Obviously, players who have more map packs are more flexible and can be tossed into a game that needs players, but once the initial start-up match is over... Matchmaking should seek a more Idealistic approach.)

Halo: Reach has decent gunplay... but it doesn't hold a candle to the Gameplay that Crysis2 Has and potentially could have. What Makes Reach so good is it's ease of use... and varying "Fun" Game Modes.
Still, imo... (and probably others out there too)... if you could get Crysis 2 running as smooth as Reach, with Awesome Match Making... then that would be enough to bring a second wind back to this game, like we saw when it first came out.

Please Crytek, make Crash Site a stand alone Playlist for the DLC, instead of it being part of onslaught.

Just need to include ALL the maps and stuff on the main matchmaking screen. People who don't have the new maps are not really aware of them, and They all should be used to play TDM and IA. Some of the new boards are HUGE ! If the squads spawn start out in the same general areas it would help a lot with strategy rather than spread allover at the start of the match. If you could make the sniper rife faster and more accurate with hip fire, it will be more popular. the whole HARDSCOPE need at point blank range is impossible to use when we really dont have enough time to even pull a secondary weapon. Other than that, Love the game and the community is way better than COD as a whole with a lot less toolbags and smacktalking A-hole hackers :)

Please make Capture the Relay a separate option, as well. Definitely NOT a fan of having it included with two other games and you have to vote for both the game and the setting at once. I don't plan on coming back until that's fixed.

Please fix it with the playlis and the DLC packs. Many people spent Money for this but cant find players for the maps. I played Killzone 3 in the past and such problems doesn`t exist there.

Is there something wrong with the servers? What happened to all the game modes? Also, it seems as if the matchmaking is still extremely flawed. I just got back in the country and bought the map packs and I can't even use them. There is either no one on them or matchmaking isn't working. I have a strong connection to the internet as well. Is there anyone who can help me with this or at the very least offer an explanation for what is going on? I would also like to know if the new maps come up in TEAM INSTANT ACTION. Thanks for any help.
