smith roleplaying?

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 9:02 am

hey everybody , fisher

i havent played oblivion for 2 weeks now, since i have been feeling distinctly cold towards it since it destructed meruka

im still going to give the whole, my avatar is a human , roleplaying method, but i would relly like to try and roleplay a smith,

very ambitions, i know, and without any mods it will be difficult, but i like a challange.

all i want to know is a good premisis, this has to have a forge, stand etc etc.

please post your ideas!

ps. if i ever wanted to own a shop, could i prehaps de-privitise private quarters?

pps ( last one) . i realise that sometime ago now arcadian posted something about taxing herself with her houses, i would really enjoy to roleplay this idea, console command please? :)

Ahhh.... I misunderstood you. I thought you meant that you weren't aware of mods that might add the features you seek into the game, not that you are dead set against using mods. My original post will have the offensive info removed. My apologizes.

Taxes via command console? Approach whoever you deem to be the tax collecter (perhaps someone in the city's castle) and let's say you owe 500 tax. Here's the command:
Spoiler
~ player.removeitem f 500

(For those playing without the command console, you could simply sell something worth much more than the amount of money a merchant has, then buy it back for full price to reduce your gold. )

Sorry, no real good ideas come to mind playing a smith. Gosh, it's been so long since I did the FG, do any of their chapters have a forge? Perhaps being a smith for one of the FG chapters? That way, you could do some other things as well?

I had thought Fighters Guild too. The snag here is that I "think" one has to join the guild to gain access to all or most hall forges. But that can be justified too. Join the guild specifically as a roving smith who travels from hall to hall offering free repair service for its members. In return the guild allows you set-aside time in which to do your own for-profit smithing. You would be a more-or-less honorary guild member, not expected to do any fighting. Simulate this be simply joining the guild but never asking for an assignment.

As to whom to pay taxes-due to, isn't there some sort of commerce office in the Imperial City Market District? That seems as good a spot as any. Or maybe go to each city's Count/Countess or their aide.
