I am up to the part of the quest where i found the Butcher's Diary in Hjerim and have spoken to Jorleif. He told me to talk Viola Giordano. Both Jorleif and Viola are displayed as where i need to go to on my map. However, speaking to neither of them will progress the quest. Viola acts like 60% of the NPC's in the game and actually just says something when you interact with her and will not bring up any conversation topics. Jorleif has nothing to tell me related to the quest.

Im playing the game on PC, so luckily i can open the console if it is necessary. Is there something im missing or is this a bug? Is there a workaround without having to open console?

Edit: I would preferably like to fix this without opening the console. Using it disables all Steam achievements. I think thats kind of silly, automatically assuming all people who open the console are dirty rotten cheaters and not trying to fix a bugged quest in a game renown for its huge amount of bugs.

Did you find the strange amulet in Hjerim? you have to bring it to someone.

I went back to Hjerim and cant seem to find the amulet you're talking about. I also dont have it in my inventory. Where is it found?

I didn't get the amulet, but I read that she won't talk to you if you don't have both the killers journal and the pamphlets. I couldn't get her to talk to me until i went back and got the fliar or pamphlets or whatever they're called.
