Why can't we place anything but weapons in display cases?

I'm an avid collector of the jeweled dragon claws (like the golden claw, I have 5 of them so far) and I'd love to display them but the cases won't let me. I tried manually stuffing them in there Oblivion style but when I leave they're either out on the floor or gone. I lost my Sapphire dragon claw :cryvaultboy:

I collect a lot of random items too.
items such as:
Dibella statues
Book Series (such as the Beggar-Thief-Warrior-King 4-book series)
Armor/Weapons I'd never use, being a thief character (heavy armor, +dragon damage 2 handed swords, etc.)
Jewels :3
Last but not least Dragon Bones and Dragon Scales. I have like 150+ of each and will never use them

It'd be awesome to have display cases for all my crazy obsessive collections. :foodndrink:

Oh and there is a really weird glitch that If i give a hood to my mannequin, all the items in my house vanish. I take it off and they fall from the ceiling all at once. So I can't put my Nightingale armor on display. :(

Why? I dunno, perhaps Bethesda hates creative decoraters.

Anyone else place some items around their home freehand and came back to find them all over the place. I has set three potions around my room and when I returned they were all on the bed like a black hole opened up and drew them all together.

@Slyhound: Thanks for informing us of that glitch. I was thinking of displaying the Nightingale Armor; it's too cool to leave lokced up in a chest. Saved me a bit of trouble.

Items reset to where you first dropped them the first time you leave and reenter.

After the first time, you can just set them back up and I THINK they'll stay.
