[REQ] Need some retextures

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 4:28 am

I'm getting back into modding again and trying to complete some cool projects, but I'm having some aesthetic issues, like how models for things like the Mainframe are rather binary. Either they're really, really clean and untouched, OR they're absolutely destroyed and show no signs of operation. This isn't gonna work for me.

Is there any chance someone could please do a quick re-texture of the "mainframesmall01" activator so it has the rusted appearance of the ruined version but the lights are still on, as well as tell me how they did it so I don't have to make threads like this every time I need a retex of something?

I've actually figured out how to do this, and it was rather easy once I got the hang of it, but I'm having a little bit of an issue at this point.

http://i41.tinypic.com/sc49j4.jpg, the mainframes that I retextured still have the gloss of the clean models, and no matter what I've tried, I can't remove it. Any ideas?

I'm not positive as I haven't done a ton of texture work with New Vegas, but it's likely still using the vanilla mainframe normal map texture. I'm not sure if that can be changed with just a texture set; you might need to copy the NIF and change what textures your copy uses, but if I'm incorrect there, someone please speak up.
