So I'm encountering the Hjerim house bug where the "scene" never shows up in the graveyard to trigger the beginning of the quest. Is there any way to trigger it with console commands?

setstage ms11b 20 isn't working. And I think that command only works after the quest has been triggered, yet I cant even get it to.

As far as I know the scene appears on your fourth visit to Windhelm.

Its not working for some reason. Apparently its a fairly common bug. Been to and from Windhelm dozens of times trying to get this to trigger. Ive tried all hours of the night and even some at day and it never triggers.

It may appear on your 4th visit, like the above poster said. However, this isn't guaranteed. You, like me, might just have to wait until this is fixed in the patch.

Then my best advice would be to break into the house, take the amulet and journals, and try to activate the quest.

I guess it will have to be patched, since Ive been there and back again like 50 times. There's supposed to be console commands for stuff like this, but they are not working.

Tried that as well, and it still didnt trigger. Weird since I got it to trigger with my necromancer, so I could get the necro amulet, but with this character trying to get the house, its not triggering.

Try waiting outside the city around the stables area so that you enter the city at around 2am - I have heard of this as triggering the quest to start. I don't know whether it actually works though, because I've not had to resort to it myself - the quest started for me when I entered the city on my second visit, that was in the small hours of the morning so there might be something to it. I guess it's worth a try.

This give you the house without having to do Blood in the Ice? The guide says you have to do Blood In the Ice to trigger buying the house.

I don't know, after the Legion questline I had the option to buy Hjerim without doing the quest. All I had to do was pay 500 to have the mess cleaned up,

Hmm, can anybody else confirm this? This would be good, since Id rather side with the legion, but didnt really want to.

I completed all the Stormcloak quests, and when I tried to buy it, the Steward wouldn't sell it to me because I hadn't done the Blood on Ice quest.
