Scope moves around like I'm drunk and trying to shoot a snip

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 10:32 am

My Guns skill is 75 and yet my sniper scope moves around a lot. My Strength is 9 I'm pretty sure that's enough to hold it well. In Fallout 3 the better your small guns was the less the scope moves around. Is this a bug?

I noticed that when crouched, the varmint rifle's night vision scope hardly wobbled at all.

Umm... that's how guns are. It is very difficult to hold perfectly still for any extended period of time.

But in FO3 if you had a small guns skill that high the scope would hardly move. But mine moves around like I'm a level 4.

And thankfully this isn't Fallout 3. This is far more realistic and adds a nice bit of challenge to it.

Crouch, seriously it does wonders to steady the weapon.

Actually, if you hold your breath, it's pretty simple to keep your rifle nigh perfectly still.

If your arms/chest/head arent crippled, and your crouched and not moving, it should barely move at all. I have like 5 Str, about 60 guns, and if I do that its very easy to fire accurately. (Were talking about the straight up Sniper Rifle, right?)

Yes while standing if you know what your doing. If you have any training at all you can pull it off. Granted, not perfectly still, but close enough to were it only makes a difference if your shooting something REALLY far away.

This. If you've aimed a weighted, scoped rifle before, than you would be able to relate (Sorry if I'm sounding snarky, emotions don't convey well over keyboards. Here's a smiley: )

Ok I started crouching and it's done wonders. I just went and picked off who knows how many Powder Gangers and with a Varmint rifle

Ive found VATS accuracy to be a little weak, and pointless at long range. I have all the VATS accuracy perks and a perception of 8 and am still 10Xs more accurate out of VATS than in VATS, at longer ranges.
