Anyone had this yet? It's supposed to be possible but all I get are brawls and bar fights. Anyone had a duel yet? I.E Melee versus Melee, one on one, pre-arranged...simply...a duel?

I had heard about this too, sounds cool but probably more empty hype.

Yep, I got challenged to a dual right outside of winterhold, a magic only fight...of course Lydia cheated for me.

I havnt even had the pleasure of an old fashion bar fight! How do I make that happen??

Yup, I've had it happen twice for me. Once with an orc and another time with a nord.

I did. I beat him up. One in Morthaal I believe? And Markarth during a quest.

Yes I've had one. I was walking out if my house in Whiterun with Lydia and we were about to go adventuring. This guy approaches and challenges me, don't remember what he said but it might've been "melee only". My Paladin tells him he won't fight him and he attacks anyways. By the time he hit me once though, the town guard and Lydia were already wailing on him and he was yelling about me cheating (stupid guy, I said no and I can't stop them anyways ). Didn't get a chance to duel him honorably because Lydia and the town guard slaughtered him too quickly.

Yeah he popped up in Whiterun and challenged me to a magic-only duel. Since I was Destruction + One-handed, after I used all of my magicka bar I pulled out my sword. The funny part is that he was saying "This is a mage-only duel. As in, no swords!"

You meet random NPC's who if you try to interact with them, they start insulting you, where you can either fight them to the death or bottle out. No penalties as I had one in an Inn, killed him and the Inn keeper never noticed. Apparently fighting to the death is something we Nords like. Completely random, no set pattern.

Oh wow, thanks for all the replies, to be honest it just shows how bloody brilliant the game is in the sense so many things happen when you play through each time.

This hasn't happened to me. I'm lvl 33 and haven't been challenged at all. I have bludgeoned a couple of bandits with my fists just for the fun of it. And for one of the thieves guild intro quests I didn't want to break the guys vase so my other option was a fist fight--which I did. But no NPCs have challenged me yet.
