Can you write notes on the map

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 1:14 pm

As the title says - like you can in Morrowind...

The reason why I am asking is because - yes I have tried - if you can, then I can't figure out how!

Cheers,
Mat

You can add a custom map marker, but I think in the vanilla game it is only one. There are mods that let you add more custom markers, with all the text you want for them to have. http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=26389

Only one custom marker in vanilla as SubRosa said. You can't write anything on it in-game though. The best to do would be to print out one and write on it yourself.

Maybe not on the map the game comes with, better to use a copy then

I prefer a notepad and a pen and to simply write down brief locations and descriptions. Works fine enough :)

Well:
A. I don't have the paper map.
and
B. I do use a notepad and a pencil and stick sheets of stats and information all over the walls of my study - (it was covered after Morrowind), but that said, it's still useful though to be able to eyeball the map and just add a reference point, like if you are in a dungeon or some such...

I mark up maps that I've printed out. Mostly with coffee rings, but some of the notations still make sense to me.

When it comes to reading my own penmanship, sometimes the coffee rings are actually more legible.

I keep notes on characters in small notebooks. I also use a map marker mod, which allows me to leave "notes" about locations (as well as adding markers for more locations than the vanilla map shows.)
