Wow that's crazy! So do you guys add points to Luck when you level (or would you if you weren't level XX if you're a high level)?
I almost never do. You only get to add 1 point at a time, and since the bonus for luck is 40% of the amount over 50, 1 point isn't even enough to make a difference. By the time you've added enough points to luck to actually make a difference, your character's probably going to be a high enough level that those extra few points toward skills won't make that much difference anyway. And since skill calculations are capped at 100, if your skills are maxed out, luck makes absolutely no difference anyway.
If I don't have anything else particularly pressing, I'll make Luck one of the favored attributes for a character. The +5 for that works out to a +2 to skills. With a particularly gimped character, I'll sometimes go with The Thief for a birthsign, often with Luck as a favored attribute as well. That bumps luck up to 65, which is a +6 to skills. That's generally worth it, particularly in the early- to mid-game. But no-- I almost never add to it after that.
