Do do mean your spell effectiveness?

It won't be at 100% possibly because you are wearing armour- even if you're only wearing gauntlets or boots. If you take off your armour your spell effectiveness should return to 100%.

With really good armor skill, you can get that spell effectiveness up to 95%. It takes wearing no armor at all to get 100%.

Do not feel that you have to wear armor to survive. This is a game where you can walk around in ordinary clothes and do just fine. Especially if you are playing a mage or archer character, who is not going to get into melee combat often. Granted it would make a challenge for a melee fighter, but even then if you are blocking with a weapon, you can blow of a good chunk of damage. A shield potion will give you some serious protection if you really want it, and once you get your alchemy up there they are not that hard to make. My characters who wear armor do so primarily for the looks.

My character too. I agree with SubRosa, you don′t need armor that bad really. As she said, shield potions and spells are very easy to come by and if you′re good at avoid getting hit you don′t even need that.
