Facial Hair

I'm very much expecting to see facial hair, beards at least.
It fits the environment and help keeps warmth and of course it makes you 100% more manlier.

I'd rather more variety in facial hair. Like braided viking beards and stuff.

The game could use a lot more variety in hair and facial hair styles.

Oh it needs to do beards much better than Oblivion for sure, although I imagine this is a given it will be at least at the FO:NV level.

Personally one of the things I'd like to see from this new engine is some movement to things like beards, hair and clothes, could be expecting too much considering it has to work on the ageing 360 and PS3 although I am also kind of hopeful that the PC will have substantially enhanced graphical options over the consoles.

I'd like to see a list of preset beards à la FO3 (whether with or without length slider) with some very basic physics (also for head hair) to keep them from clipping into clothes or armor. We've seen properly waving coats and the like in games for years now, why not use it for (facial) hair?

Beards should be big enough to be allowed to store items in them :P

We've got to have the option to give our Nord characters epic braided beards. Full on viking syle ones. It'd be nice to proper beards full stop. The stubble (not good stubble either) slider in OB was vert dissapointing to me, a life long fan of beards, if I want to put a well sculpted goatee on my Imperial or a big Thor type effort on my Nord I want to be able to.
I also agree with the poster that said the beards in Fallout looked dodgy, kinda like false beards stuck on with tape, a beard-wig if you will.
Slightly off topic but I want to have more hairstyles too, or least let me make them longer than shoulder length. And not stiff unmovable hair.

I voted "other" because Fallout lacked viking-esque epic nord beards. Plus we need longer hair options as well!

And we certainly need some wizard beards! http://www.wacky-wizards.com/information/images/albus-dumbledore2.jpg and http://www.infamouskidd.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/gandalf.jpg

i wish people would stop suggesting fallout-style stuff... this isnt fallout, this is THE ELDER SCROLLS!

i think bethesda should have a completely new system for character creation and beards, etc.

I'll be really surprised if there isn't actual beard system in Skyrim. Although I guess the team knew themselves that the "burnt mouth" look in Oblivion was terrible, as they went to the trouble of including actual facial hair options in Fallout.

Now as for what kinds of beards should be on offer, I want LONG, flowing beards. I want my warriors to look like Vikings on Steroids, and my wizards to look like Gandalf after being on some sort of beard rack. My characters should be able to look hairer than the animals they kill. I want them to drag on the ground. A hierarchy established based on beard length and thickness. No puny, smart, neat beards here. If your beard is too short, then the longbeards will attack you. The Nords need to look wild! The Imperials! The elves! Hell, even the Argonians in Skyrim need beards. Even if they're presented as "fake" props of some sort. The only people without facial hair should be the women. And even then, I think they need a bearded woman, or two, for lulz.

The beards need ragdoll physics, allowing them to get caught on various fixtures! They should be able to blind, bind and injure enemies. The beards should be able to catch every day objects, and be enabled for inventory storage! They need to be intricately detailed, with every single individual hair discernable! They need to flow delicately in the wind, wave gracefully in the water, and cast full and detailed shadows! Hell, this whole new engine should have been made specifically for the possibility of highly advanced virtual beards!

I just really want more than that horrible face paint...
