What do I do now

First of all, I'm a 47 year old father, husband and etc, etc.... I've never been much for a gamer since the Nitendo gamecube. To the point. I purchased Fallout 3, I was so impressed, I went and purchased Fallout - New Vegas. I've gone through the games, their respective DLCs. Since then I've purchased Skyrim, Borderlands, Rage.... I've played them but nothing compares to the enjoyment that Fallout has brought an old man. The theme, characters, maps, everything feel together and the universe was whole again.

Now with the theatrics set aside. Great game.... Nothing else compares to the Fallout series. I've tried to play others only to be disappointed. Please give us something else, another DLC, new game... With Skyrim, I just can't get into the Dungeon and Dragons environment.

Enough ramblings for now, You got something I can beta test for ya. lol.

Wow, old gamer. I wonder how your discussion about interests sound like with people your age. They like fishing, their childhood dream car, mowing their front lawn on a sunny day... and you like Fallout! :) Have you played Fallout 1 and 2?
Also, you can be sure that there will most likely be a Fallout 4... and a Fallout 5, and probably some spin-off again. Because Bethesda didn't buy the IP to just develop one single game, they originally bought the rights to make three games and then they bought the full right to it. So there will be many games, just don't expect one to be announced in like 2013 ;)

Didn't state that you had but you can always give the original Fallout games a try :) You can buy Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics in a bundle nowadays, saw one on Amazon for $5.49.

The originals do have different gameplay though as combat is turn-based and the game is shown in an iso-metric perspective not first-person.

Since you're a newcomer to the Fallout series that started with FO3 and FNV you might have trouble adapting. If you can work around the changes (and graphics, another common gripe from newcomers) then you may find the original games very enjoyable.

To put in some perspective I started with Fallout 1 when it came out in '97 followed by Fallout 2 and Fallout: Tactics when they were released. I've played them more than I care to count over the years and yet I still go back to them and still enjoy them very much even after playing FO3 and FNV (I should note that FNV is a lot closer to the originals than FO3).

Yes, there are hundreds of references to Fallout 1 and 2 (mostly 2) in Fallout New Vegas, which you will get if you've played them. New Vegas isn't far at all from where F1/F2 took place if you look http://img843.imageshack.us/img843/331/usadetailed.jpg I made (shameless advertising)
