Lost all sound effects after adding Tamriel Rebuild 1 &

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 4:51 pm

I could use your guys' help once again. I installed Tamriel Rebuilt map 1 and 2, and after that, all sound effects in the game are inaudible. I still have music.

I disabled the TR esm's and removed the files that were in the mod, but still no sound effects.

Up until I added Tamriel Rebuilt, everything was good. I use Atmospheric Sound Effects 3.0, and I'm hesitant to start messing around in the Music folder grasping at straws trying to fix this.

Any ideas? I can't find any info about this problem with the search, or google.

This has nothing to do with Tamriel Rebuilt. Consider checking your sound settings, both in game and the hardware configuration.

Sound settings are as they have been, all sliders are around 80%, except for music around 40%. I haven't touched an audio setting since I installed it a few weeks ago.

It is somehow either related to one of these mods, or with what I did in the process of installing them. Would it be BSAReg.exe? I know it added a few lines to Morrowind.ini, anything else this could have done?

TR does nothing to change the way sound works. It can't be related.

I'm convinced you're right. What can I do to have an affect on sound effects? Is there anything you can think of that I could try?

You're best off asking this in the support section I think.

Well, nobody looks at the hardware and software issues forum.

There's a disable audio thing in MGE that sounds like it would do that. Is that on?

Good suggestion. It was unchecked though. I tried checking it, closing MGE, then unchecking it, and I still have no sound effects.

Are you using the MCP beta? It has a mute loud sounds thing that may be doing this instead. Otherwise this is confusing.

I use MCP 1.9.

I just noticed, the master volume slider doesn't affect the music. So the only audio option in the options that works is the music volume slider, if that's a clue.

I really appreciate your suggestions.
