How do you change darkness level and turn off autosave?

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 3:10 pm

How do you change the darkness level for nighttime in the game? I just recently put in a mod that changed the darkness level a little too much.

Also, how do you turn off autosave? It's causing the game to crash sometimes and is quite annoying.

Thanks for the help

I’m running DarN Dark UI, so some of my options may be diff from vanilla.

Brightness: In game, hit escape, options, video, adjust brightness.

Autosave: In game, hit escape, options, gameplay, change save on rest/wait/travel – not exactly autosave, but close. I expect there is a better way and perhaps someone else can provide more info.

Thanks for the reply. I need to turn off autosave for changing cells too however :(

I should have also been more specific on the darkness levels, what I meant was changing the darkness level of nighttime. If I change the brightness options, it'll make my daytime too bright. ;)

I am not really sure, but I know several mods do it. I would try the construction set forum, someone there probably knows how to do it.

Too light an evening sky bothered me from day one. It was the first perceived deficiency I singled out to rectify via mod. I use that now old standby, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4135. It's a simple mod that serves but one purpose and does it well. There are others that might better meet you needs. If you seek something more elaborate, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=18305 includes night sky darkening amongst its many options.

To further enhance night time travel consider Phitts http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35593 and a nebula such at the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=26700 I use.

As to disabling autosaves, I did so via Oblivion.ini (the one in My Documents \ Oblivion, not the "default" ini in my Oblivion directory).
