Fallout Television Series?

I personally do not think Fallout can be made into the movie for the same reason most video games can't be: there is too much in them. I would more rather want a series, probably on AMC or Showplace about Fallout. I think it's a great idea. Even a short six-episode series (with each episode being an hour).

My Pitch: (You don't really have to worry too much about this, I just threw it together, and it's in no way original, but it has written Fallout all over it, which is the point. I want to know how you guys will feel about a Fallout television series.)

Spoiler
The pilot would start the same way. You are watching a television from the 1950's play some old timey commercials, going through Vault Tec-Industries to Nuka Cola, then the camera pans out, while the music becomes more of an echo and more quiet. The camera pans all the way out past the BoS main headquarters of wherever the series takes place, past the first settlement the main character first visits, and finally to the opening of the vault the main character will be from. The vault, which is not closed yet, closes for dramatic purposes. Then the screen goes black and a film reel, narrated by Ron Pearlman begins and ends with "War. War never changes." I know it's not the most original idea. In fact, almost every Fallout starts this way, but that's why I thought this be a perfect opening. I'm sorry, but the series could not possible open any other way.

The pilot will also chronicle the main character's reason for leaving the vault. They series can start in medias res, with the hero already outside of the vault for two weeks and he has Dogmeat along with him, or it can start from the very beginning. Episode two can be about rescuing Dogmeat from being devoured by a couple of raiders. Episode one can be about the vault hero leaving the vault and encountering his first settlement, learning about the people and then finding out about that someone's daughter has been kidnapped by raiders. During episode two, the hero could save the girl from the raider campsite, and end up also finding Dogmeat. Dogmeat should probably be found fast since it only seems best that way. Episode three can be about the hero meeting the BoS for the first time, and the fourth episode can be about him gathering his first (and possibly only) ally, a ghoul, who he mistakes for a zombie.

Of course, along the way, the hero will meet Ghouls, monsters and abominations like radroaches and nightclaws, Super Mutants, the Enclave, as well as friendly people, like the Brotherhood of Steel. Each episode, while connected by one defining goal, which is the vault hero's reason of leaving, will be more like a Monster of the Week show, with the hero having to deal with a new issue.

If anyone should make a television series/mini-series, it'd better be HBO. Qua-lit-ee.

I think it should stay away from the fallout brand... But I think a TV show around the concept of Vault City's founding could be fun. Do it in a comedy fashion - the vault dwellers have this complete niaeve view about what is going to be like after the unsealing of the vault...

I suggest Jericho that is a fallout-like TV-series that was aired like 6-7 years ago.

I would rather see a movie made than a TV-Series. TV-series tend to get drawn out and I hate waiting for an entire week to wait for the next part of the plot. Plus TV shows are usually to corny for my tastes as they are limited to what they can air, so I think a movie would be better. Or an animated movie or something.

If Fallout is made into an animated movie I will refuse to see it in theatres, if it is given a PG-13 rating then I will refuse to see it ever. Watch Game of Thrones or the Walking Dead and tell me again if you still think Fallout shouldn't be made into a TV series. Games have not had any luck in movie adaptations, my favourite video game to movie adaptations are the Resident Evil movies and they still don't exactly inspire confidence for a Fallout movie where nothing less then astounding will do. Besides, the story of Fallout is too massive to be confined to a two hour movie.
