Dragons!

I'm under the impression that Dovahkiin (Dragon Born) will be able to understand dragons. At the same time dragons will more than likely be the antagonists of the game, so I wouldn't expect them as transportation/mounts.

I think that likely too, but that is not to say there will be no dragons on the other side of the battle.

Not only the dragonborn will be able to talk to the dragons since i posted a quote saying dragons can talk. So..

Well if the Dragons do end up communicating in the release, that means we'd finally have engine support for talking creatures again! Yay!

I'll cry if you're able to ride dragons. I'd be ashamed of Bethesda if they resorted to a feature like that to draw in the masses.

I second this, in terms of appearance/size as well as nature. In fact, if they look anything like the somewhat cadaverous and serpentine dragon(s) in the trailer, I won't be disappointed.

It really has got to have something to do with Akavir. Surely their is no other feesable explanation. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Akavir Read that for more details. And yes, Don't you like the emblem for Akavir, and wonder why it looks exactly the same as the logo for Skyrim? Anyone?

It also looks exactly like the Imperial symbol and the avatar of Akatosh. The symbol appeared on the front cover of Morrowind and was plastered all over Oblivion. Did either of those games involve Akavir. No they didn't. So can people PLEASE stop using this line of reasoning. Also, the voice over negates Akavir with these lines:

"But no-one wanted to believe"
"Believe they even existed. And when the truth finally dawns: It dawns in fire."

Guess what. EVERYONE believes in Akavir. Their are no Akaviri deniers. The dragons are allegory for something, but most definitely NOT Akavir.

Ah poppycock. If I can ride Shamoo the whale, I can ride Herby the dragon. :D

...but can Shamoo the whale incinerate you using only its breath?

But anyway, I doub't that they would even let you consider riding them. If you tried, you'd probably end up roast nord in no time.

You know, the dragons could be merely metaphoric for the civil war about to come to a head in Skyrim due to political/racial/economic dissension.
