Enclave and Knowledge.

Post » Wed Sep 30, 2009 1:49 am

Okay, in a scene in Fallout 2 the Enclave get Vault Dwellers to open the vault, then kills them. I'm just guessing they take what they want from it, Technology, med's, weapons, etc. Or maybe use it as a shelter. Anyway, since the Enclave were part of Vault -Tec's Scheme, and want all vaults empty. Why don't they go to Vault 112 and take it. The tech in there is amazing, and best of all, a good training Simulation, anyone agree?
So why don't they.

The Enclave most likely did not have the knowledge that Vault 112 was located underneath Smith Casey's.

All hail the Enclave!

The Enclave doesn't need technology from the vaults. Compared to what the Enclave has, Vault-Tec tech is from the stone-age. They are only interested in pure-blooded humans from the sealed vaults. The half-dozen schmucks in V112 aren't even worth the vertibird fuel, let alone the effort.

Pre-War Vault-Tek was a front for (or at least controlled by) the Enclave conspiracy (The forerunner to the Enclave we know from the games). They know everything Vault-Tek knows, and in the Enclave Facility (The Oil Rig) could have had equal (if not better) VR technology.

In its current state (a military unit struggling for survival) that VR tech isnt that useful to them. They have more immediate needs. Guns, Ammo, Armour, Spare parts.

The BoS didn't really catch up in the tech aspect yet. Sure, they've made a Tesla Cannon. Three Tesla Cannons. That's like saying that a war will be won with three good tanks vs people who have thousands of tanks.

If the BoS could Mass-Produce the Tesla Cannon, then they would've caught up to the Enclave, at least partially.

I'd really hate to ruin the good ending of fallout2. I'd like to explain fallout2 cutscene where the encalve opens the vaults and shoots the waving family. But... It would completely ruin the ending of fallout2, just buy the 3 pack fallout1 2 and tactics, and beat fallout 2 and you'll understand the enclave, why fallout3 has the drugs it has, and why the brotherhood of steel and enclave are fighting.

Thats not the ending... The Enclave vault-killing movie is the Introduction.

of course they knew, thats what my post was alluding to.

;)

although, knowing that braun was there, they may not have had an immediate need to go there, but its not neccessarily true that nothing would be of any use-cause that guy could be pretty useful scientifically i would think

Are you having a go?
they may already know everything he does, because he was allegedly key in the activation and assignment of vautls for the experiments.

though if he did have any useful info i would imagine he would relenquish any of it in order to get out of the program that he is doomed to surviving in alone.

Assuming you triggered the Failsafe you mean. Assuming that, however...can he actually be pulled from the simulation? It's not like Anchorage where the Simulation was designed to end.

you mean to "release" him? the wiki says you can bring him out of the lounger.. thoguh i never have, cause im not playing on PC.. regardless. i would thinik since he was bored to begin with when he had people to mess with, death would be good enough for him, just to end the monotany.

i would think that you would still be able to get into the VR, since it only killed the people that were assigned to the vault.. didnt kill you or dad, cause it didnt recognixe you in the programming..

all theorhetical anyway

Its been a while since iv done the V112 part but im pretty sure, you survive because your not over 200 years old, and your body can survive on its own not with the help of the machinery in the pods.

i as gonna say that could be the case...... but thinking on it, youre not attacked by the Chinese in the sim like the vault residents. im guessing because you're not recognized by/entered into the program.

Actually, the idea that you and Dad survive because you're not properly keyed into the system holds more water than the "you're not 200 years old" idea. If you mess around in Braun's terminal, you see a message from Gen. Chase about the failsafe- he said that it'll kill eveyone in the system, except for Braun.
