Bug with "The House Always Wins III"

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 2:12 pm

After I return the platinum chip to House and accept the mission to befriend the Boomers, his securitrons will turn hostile and start attacking me after the dialogue ends, thus causing the entire questline to fail. From this point on, Mr. House terminal becomes non-responsive. I have no idea why they do this. I can't find anything on this, even on the Wiki. Has anyone else encountered this?

This is not the same bug as the *other* House questline bug where the turrets in Vault 11 flagged are as the same faction as House.

Try using a steathboy before talking with house.

I was able to get around the motor runner bug by doing that.

Are you wearing any faction armor? Even some helmets may be faction armor and the game may have failed to display the message (message sometimes fails to display). Even if you are not currently wearing faction armor, it may help to equip and unequip faction armor as the disguise is not always properly deactivated when armor is removed.

I am not sure what you mean by this. What motor-runner bug is causing the issue of Mr. House going hostile?

I am not wearing any faction armour, but I'll give this a try.

It just occurred to me that there are two things that might be relevant to the cause of this bug. First, I am also trying to play multiple sides through this questline....so trying to carry out missions for the Legion, the NCR, and Yes Man--although I haven't triggered the "Don't tred on the bear" and its Legion equivalent warning yet. And when the securitrons go hostile after I agree to carry out the mission for House, there are no messages. Another thing is that I activated two "Lucky 38 override" terminals. I had no idea what they did at the time, and only later found out on the wiki that they were part of an unfinished quest. I did bug the Mr.s House terminal but when I spoke to House about it, he didn't seem to mind (and that in itself did not trigger any hostile actions by his securitrons).
