Whats the story? : Fallout Series Discussion

Please excuse me if I have missed something but have been looking for days for a complete story on the fallout universe. I find multiple posts referring to tidbits of info I have no idea where they got it from. I personally have only played FO3. Is this where I am behind, is alot of this history coming out of the first 2 games? If not is there somewhere I can look other than the wiki for a novel-like outline of the history of the wastes?

Anyone have further info, this page was great, but I guess what I'm looking for is trivia to a certain degree such as, the background of Nuka-cola, or iguana bits, etc.

Play Fallout 1 and 2 on Gametap if you have it. Or if you're brave, run old versions of Direct X on your PC and try to run FO 1 and 2. Don't blame me if your OS implodes.
