Is their a point to it apart from selling for gold?

Can you do anything else with it?

This is one of those activities that does not have a game related purpose, other than the money. It is to fulfill a role that your player may be defined by.

Plus, if your broke, you can pick up some coin.

Yep as above, bows, but that's only chopping the wood on the tree stump, using the saw mill is just for fun.

It's actually a great money maker for the first town Riverwood. Just chop and sell. It is a slow process but I guess they didn't want you making money too fast.

It's also needed to upgrade some bows.

Yes, but chopped wood is the ingredent you need to do the upgrade bow at the grinding wheel.

Longbows can be improved with one cord of wood at the Grinding Stone. :whisper:
Some bows need Ingots, true. But Longbows need wood.
