Do you playing with npc followers?

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 2:00 pm

I dont count Mage summoned or reanimated npcs as followers, if they die u can summon another one but they need some mana, cant carry stuff, cant wield armor, weapons etc.

On master difficulty i found playing with 1 follower ALOT easyr cas they doing more damage then player vs some mobs ,and can tank npcs.

When I've been forced to use followers for certain quests I hated it because I like to sneak around until I'm ready to strike and they always seem to run off and agro before I'm ready.

I'm not an assassin type, I just use stealth tactically - I have no stealth perks. But even then, for me, sacraficing the element of surprise for extra damage soaking and dealing is just not worth it even on master - I can always just pop potions.

EDIT: Not to mention they always get in my way and take damage from me...

I play on master with one follower, but I left him in Winterhold like 3 days ago, and haven't been back that way for a while. Followers are a pain in the ass with a stealth toon.

I had Lydia, but feared too much for her life. I now travel alone. Plus if I do all the killing, I level my weapon skills faster. And I enjoy playing alone alot more.

I could not agree more! Well said. Their AI is a problem for anyone not playing a "barbarian at the gate". If you go in undetected and quiet, it will take all of 2 seconds for your cover to be blown with a follower. I steer clear of them like the plaque.

Illia ofcourse. That woman nukes the hell out of everything that moves. And she is tough as nails. Left her alone with two master fire mages and one master necromancer (while i was stressfully dodging fireballs and popping potions), and she kicked the living [censored] out of them. Lydia (and pretty much all the other companions i've met) seems UTTERLY useless compared to her, lol. Playing on Expert.

And since when can you travel with more than one companion? Please answer that.

No one. I had Lydia for awhile but she got stuck in a keep for a long time. Eventually, she found her way back to me but when sneaking inside a cave a short while after, she'd attack creatures while I was sneaking about and I'd hit her far too often than it was worth to have her tag along.

I told her to wait and then received a message while playing she had become tired of waiting and left. I don't know where she went - I don't own a home - and I'm in no need to ever find her either.

Nope, they're very annoying, I have Barbas the Dog following me atm and he gets in the way a lot, and pushes me! :o

When I stop moving he gives me a shove, and he's nearly knocked me off ledges so many times. (And actually did on one occasion. :swear: )

(Although I do like that he seems to be immortal, I have friendly fireballed him many times when he was in the way but he never goes down. )
