Dual-wield Daggers.

So, quick questions here. Apologies if it's frequently asked...

I'm playing a Ranger character and I don't want to rely on stealth too heavily. My question is: Is it feasible to use dual-wielded daggers in open combat? I know they get most of their power from sneaking and I fully intend to utilize that when the situation calls for it, but if I focus on one-handed skill and get all the appropriate dual-wield perks will it work?

Should be fine
Why not actually try it and see?

Well, I am, heh...

Was just curious if it remains a viable option.

Will be fine, you may struggle against 2h opponents though, getting close enough is the hard part.

If you don't enjoy it you can always switch one dagger out for a shortsword, or try dual shortswords, and see how that goes. With the exception of one backstab perk everything will transfer over to the larger weapon, and the sacrifice in speed may be worth the extra damage.

However I suspect dual daggers will work just fine, even without relying on stealth.

I've thought about switching to off-hand to a sword. Guess I'll just see how it goes. Appreciate the replies.

At least it's easy to try both without having to pursue two sets of perks.

Very weak. I wanted so badly to be a dual dagger, but the point of dual wielding is to use power attacks. It is impossible to dodge, move in to power attack, and dodge the next because of the delay. I was forced to switch to swords and fared much better.

On the other hand, I refused to use enchanted weapons. And I can switch back to daggers now that my Alchemy is 98 and poisons are strong.

I've been using Dual Daggers exclusively myself. It takes a lot more finesse than the other weapons, you get used to dancing around a lot to dodge attacks. Using Light armor also helps. You generally want to combine it with Stealth attacks, and the perks that increase sneak damage.

I wanted to mess with Crafting because you can do some insane things, for my after game, so thats why all of the Crafting perks
