If your PC can run Oblivion, then I recommend getting it on that, simply because you can solve all the buggy problems and you have access to mods which could last your for hundreds and hundreds of hours.

Head over to the mods section of the forum. Then take a look at TesNexus, planetelderscrolls etc. Then come to the conclusion that getting the PC version will be better value for money - its the natural progression of things.

PC, because you can mod the gane, you can fix bugs. In the Xbox version, if you have a bug, there's nothing to do about it.

Unless you have an ancient PC, get the computer version. You have the console to fix problems, can take screenshots, and use mods and make your own to fix things you don't like or simply add new material.

I like having the controller on the X-box, but the mods sound cool.

+1 for PC

I'm pretty sure there must be a way to plug an xbox controller into a PC and use that.

I don't see any mention of what your graphics card is like. But in any case your RAM is lower than Oblivion's minimum requirement (should be 512 MB, but is only 256 MB) so you can probably forget about OB for PC. It is enough for Morrowind though, but we still need to find out what your graphics card is like.

I think the PC is a 10 times better idea. I've had it on 360 for years and, don't get me wrong, I love it. But Im gonna get it on PC too, just for mods. :D

(Once I get one that runs Oblivion that is. :P )

Morrowind, probably. Oblivion, almost certainly not without some serious upgrading.

the only specs I can find for a Dell Dimension 4600 have a better CPU and more memory than yours, they run with a Radeon 9000pro which will not run this game, Finding upgrades would be difficult since you would be looking for DDR memory and an AGP graphics card

without doubt: PC. But seeing the amount of RAM your computer has I'm afraid it will not be up to the task of running Oblivion. Perhaps this is a good time to upgrade your computer?

256 RAM is barely enough to keep XP running -- I guarantee you'll see a huge improvement by adding some more RAM. Try to get 1-2 GB in there if it's possible.

[edit]If you're actually able to play WoW on that, the graphics card might be suitable, at least for Morrowind.

Those specs were not posted by the OP. These don't even meet WoW's minimum requirements.

YES!
There are plenty of brand new computers that have zero chance of running the game. They just weren't made for playing demanding games. We still get a lot of threads in the hardware section where someone has bought the game, it won't start, and it turns out that their computer doesn't meet the requirements.

@OP (and anyone else with doubts)
Post your specs (or a full DXDiag report), and we can tell you if and how well it will run.

You have an Integrated graphics chip rather than a real card, It should just about run the game on the lowest settings, but you would get a better experience from the xbox

From what I can find you should have a PCI Ex16 slot though, so upgrading is an option.
