So far the only creatures I've seen that have grand souls are mammoths. I've test trapped just about everything I've seen.

I'm level 32.

Dragon Priests probably. And other 40+ enemies you won't find too many of at level 32.

Giants are Greater, I think polar bears are grand though I'm not positive on that.

Black soul gems are everywhere. Just use those

Other than Mammoths, not many. It's why I'm converting Azura's Star to a Black Gem - much easier to fill with Grand soul

Thinking about it, I wonder if Dremora do? There was a good way of getting soul gems in TES4 by summoning a Xivilai and trapping it's soul. The same process would be incredibly helpful here.

I do regret cleansing Azura's Star. Though Aranea Ienith has been handy as a follower.

Can you soul trap summoned Dremora in this game? When ever I try it on my Fire Antroch it's always resisted.

if dremora were to be soul trapped i would think they're considered humanoid for the benefiit of soul trapping. you're not supposed to be able to trap any atronachs or dwemer constructs since they dont have souls....however i am able to trap draugr even tho the guide book states they dont have souls either :/


i was quite surprised when trying to tap an atronach....i dont like that change much especially since you can just raise conjuration by soul trapping dead bodies over an over. so its not like it slows down leveling in the slightest. i went blackstar myself because i wanted one since morrowind glad that i did.

You would be better off just purchasing filled grand soul gems, since they are cheaper.
