I just fought 4 dremoras. Each dropped a deadric heart and were quite similar to the ones we saw in oblivion. If I say where, I'd spoil the surprise :D

Dremora only show up in a few quests and late conjuration summons. Storm Atronachs are pretty late game. They can be summoned, I don't know if they show up elsewise.

The rest aren't present.

I always shudder when people say "removed" in contexts that are blatantly inappropriate.

It's a new game. Daedra don't have half the presence in Skyrim. Tamriel was being invaded by them and Morrowind worshiped them to a degree. Skyrim kills them on sight. So they won't be setting up temples or popping up any doors.

They simply have no hold in Skyrim. Even the shrine to Azura was only built in the past 200 years.

This.

Notice how there are actually patrols of priests dedicated solely to wiping out Daedra worship? That tends to discourage folks from summoning them.

Oblivion gazes sealing just stops them from invading. In other words, all returned like how it was before the Oblivion Crisis.

On topic, there are two reasons for his:
1. Daedric Worship ain't so prevalent in Skyrim as it was in Vvardanfel (where Daedra are central to Dark Elven culture) while the main reason they were so present in TES4 was due to Oblivion Crisis which allowed Daedra to come and stay in Mundus with very few limits
2. If you pay attention, you will notice that Daedric Princes are losing power for some reason and their artifacts are not working as well as they one did (I bet return of Jyggalag had something to do with this). The smaller Daedra might also be weakening and can't stay in Mundus for as long as in the past

You really have a problem with any part of the Elder Scrolls that isn't Morrowind, don't you?

Daedra don't appear with the same frequency across every province of Tamriel. You've been given multiple explanations for why you wouldn't expect to see a lot of them in Skyrim.

What are you blabbering on about?
It isn't about not having the money or resources, it's about lore. They could have put them in Skyrim, hell they could have made a city filled with them, but it wouldn't make sense at all from a lore standpoint.

They invaded 200 years ago with the oblivion crisis, but got defeated. They also, like other posters have pointed out, get killed on sight. There's no point to make a shire and summon daedra if they're going to get slaughtered the second someone finds out about it.

Yeah, Skyrim doesn't like Daedra that much, or any other spellcaster, so they're rare.

I'm sure the DLCs will fix this though...

I am hoping a future game in another region will have more Dremora. Someone once mentioned the idea that some could have been stranded after Oblivion and they set up their own society. Maybe integrate as much as the Orcs have.

I don't know what region that would be appropriate for other than Morrowind. And we're not likely to get another game there anytime soon.

Spoiler
Storm Atronachs do appear in Sheogorath's quest, along with the other two Atronachs for that matter. But they can only be manipulated, and not really fought.)

As for why there aren't any Daedra present in the wilds of Skyrim, there are a plethora of reasons. For example:
1. The Oblivion Gates have been closed, so they can no longer invade with impunity..
2. Skyrim is VERY anti-magic, to the point where mages are often ostracized or even outright blamed for any calamity that might befall a community. Ergo, there aren't as many people who are willing, or even able, to cast the necessary spells needed to summon a Daedra into Nirn. And those that are capable don't seem very keen on sharing their abilities with the wider world.
3. Ever since the Oblivion crisis a new order called the Vigiliants of Stendaar has arisen, that viciously both the remaining Deadra and anyone who consorts with them. When you have an entire order dedicated to wiping out anyone who consorts with Daedra, or any lone Daedra for that matter, you're bound to see a decrease in numbers.
4. Unlike Morrowind, Daedra worship isn't prevalent in Skyrim either. So where as Morrowind got away with the extensive use of Daedra because of the plethora of Daedric ruins, Skryim has no such excuse.

well.....

200 years ago, in tes5 they invaded, and...

well the title" oblivion" pretty much sums up waht the game was going to be about, tes 5 was ALL about our cute red pals the dremora,

but matin sealed the magical barriers/gates, theres no possible way that the dremora could return to tamriel in such great numbers now, they had their big chance, and they blowed it big time.

im surprised you asked this question since its kinda obvious why dremora would be so rare now, the only way a dremora could make an apperance now would be if they survived the crisis and stayed in tamriel or if they are summoned...

did you honestly think they would make another game around the dremora..

no, now we have the bloody thalmore...

"the great war"

im sure in the next game the cold war will be comeing up....;)

They CAN enter Tamriel, just not in the same quantities as during the Oblivion crisis.

If you do the Sheogaroth questline, he does give you the Wabbajack as a reward. Every now and then, a Dremora will appear and attack people you are fighting. So they do appear every now and then but it's more a random thing - nature of the Wabbajack....

I for one don't really miss them. It's true that a TES game without scamps is a lil empty. But on the other hand, after oblivion its a welcome change

yes, they can but they can only enter in tiny amounts ( ones or twos v)

the whole point of oblivion MQ was to seal the gates of oblivion and pretty much make sure an outer-world invasion couldnt happen again

from now on they are gonna be a lot rarer, maybe even unheard of

as for how the daedra goda are getting weaker..well nobody knows for sure bu the liklyhood is because of the increasingly flimsy connection between themselves and nirn, them being the most powerfull of the daedra, they will still have a meager portion of power in tamriel, but that is goign to get weaker and weaker untill....maybe the daedra simply become osmthing for the "a brief history of tamriel.." books?
