How about a spellbook where you can simply organize your spells? That way, the ones you want to use can be placed on the front page where your less powerful 'training' spells can be set to the back of the spellbook.

That way you'd still keep all the spells you learned/purchased but can decide which ones you want to have visible from your menu :)

^
This....A custom book of spells would be awsome, and allow you to use the book at a certain point like journeyman or expert.....or better yet, allow more pages to open up with advances in skill,novice,apprentice,Etc...

You can delete spells in Morrowind, so I have no idea why they removed that function from Oblivion.
Although with mods, you can do it in OB.

Voted Yes. A great function to have.

I named all my training spells (fire 1 point on self, for example) zzz***, with the *** being other random letters. The spells I actually used frequently (invisibility, stuff like that) aaa***. Being able to delete spells but keep the effect for spellmaking would be great, or being able to hide them would work just as well.

I always used a "fireball of doom", a "lightning strike", etc when creating spells in Oblivion. The a placed it first in the list. I could go a step further using a for targeted, b for touch, c for self but frankly it got tedious.

Thank the nine we have a great modding community.

I like the spell book idea to, either works.

+1
In general - to general consent - tes4 magick system was soooo poor - having the same version of the spell every mastery level - spells not ranking in power with your skill (cf alchemy) - limited spellmaking really - many unneeded spells

Thet's why : LAME, MM, Midas, SM etc etc etc
I hope beth will take care of us Wizards - the spell book is just the tip of the iceberg

[censored] yes. It was ridiculous to have all of these low level spells when you had other spells that did much much more and you would have to track them all down.

EDIT: Perhaps it should just be a hide spell option in case you delete one you like.

I'd love to be able to delete or better yet hide spells I don't want to use anymore. My spell book was overflowing with things I stopped using after awhile.

Plus, if say i'm playing a warrior style character it would be great to be able to delete all spells so I feel like a real warrior instead of being a warrior that can shoot fire balls like Mario whenever I want to. Of course you couldnt delete you'r racial abilities.

Absolutley. I know that I, when i played pure mage, found it incredibly cluttered (the spell list that is) at higher levels

I voted yes because that was extremely annoying in Oblivion. I also agree with having an organizable spellbook. It would be awesome to sort spells however you want them.
For instance:
  • By school
  • By type (ranged, self, etc.)
  • Alphabetically
{*]Favorites. You place spells in your own order.

That would be perfect.

This. Or have spells scalable. So for instance, instead of "Unlock 40 points" it would just be "Unlock." If the lock is lower than your current alteration level (or some such) and you have enough magicka, it works.

Would be a problem on complex multi effect spells, also premade spells are usually a little cheaper to cast than the self made ones.

Naturally we should have the option to delete spells, probably because of some oversight they forgot it in Oblivion and it was not only to add a button for delete for some reason. Unimportant if the game remembers if you know the spell effect or not if you delete all spells who uses the effect, if it forgets you have to buy a spell with the effect again, if not well you know the effect. More important to be able to delete the “great deal” spell you made with fortify mercantile 100 for 2 seconds on touch :(

Yes please as long as we can buy them again from the different mage merchants. I shouldn't need to have the Bound Dagger spell the whole game just to get my conjuration minor skill up to apprentice.

Definitely a yes for me, I made some wrongly-named (typo while Spellmaking) and useless spells in Oblivion that I wish I could just delete.

Of course. You can't have custom spells without an option to delete them later.
(Come on, even Treasure of Rudras on Snes had spell deletion)

Voted Yes. Oblivio's spell book was clutter hell.

But apart from having the ability to remove spells that I no longer have a use for, I'd much rather have the ability to order spells in the spell book and hide/unhide spells.

It's getting pretty ridiculous with all the polls around here. Who could possibly be against the ability to delete spells? :P
