The Pip-Boy 2000

What was it like the first time you used a Pip-Boy? This is from one of my favorite posts, I edited out the RP stuff that was before, and after. This is a small story about Crimmer, a young redheaded girl and her first experience with a Pip-Boy. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did writing it.

Crimmer tossed her backpack on the kitchen table; heading straight for the basemant. James had said his old Pip-Boy was stored in a scorched, blue trunk. She popped the two latches to the beat up trunk, Thwack Thwack. She anxiously lifted the lid, there it was, cracked screen and all, the Pip-boy 2000. Crimmer giggled gleefully as she picked it up, to the side was an instruction manual. She clutched both items to her chest and ran back upstairs.

Crimmer sat cross legged on the living room floor, flipping through the pages of the Pip-Boy's manual. Her green eyes scanned the text rapidly. Something she often did at the university in Florida when she wanted to hurry her studies so she could go out to gather items.

She put the old Pip-Boy on her left wrist, even as tight as it would go, it was still a little loose. She activated it, the Pip-Boy's screen lit up, even though there was a crack in it.

Initiating set up...standby... this may take several minutes.

Crimmer sat somewhat patiently, bouncing her leg. She had always had a few small nervous habits, this was one of them. Just a few seconds later, the processors started to whir inside.

Crimmer's mouth hung open as she sat motionless.

"Wow! I had no idea they did all that?" Crimmer was in shock.
