Make a test of your RAM with e.g. "Memtest" http://www.memtest.org/

I'm not an expert but for me it sounds like your having problems with it.
Or do you have the "lags" only if you play online?

Just realized its a laptop.

Rule number 1: Never buy Alienware.
Rule number 2: Never buy a 'gaming' laptop.
Rule number 3: Never buy an Alienware 'gaming' laptop.

Buying more RAM probably wont help you.

Im sure someone else around here will know more about this than I do but I would imagine you are either having heating problems or your specs are simply not good enough. Mobility cards are very underwhelming.

Hello, i also run it on an m15x. on 1600x900 and extreme i get on average 30fps. My system differs from yours on the fact that i have an i5 540m 2.54ghz dual core and a mobility radeon 5850. But you should be having no problems playing. Check to see if you have the latest vbios, drivers etc.

Sorry, but nobody really understood the problem. He/She writes that it runs smoothly but then it starts to lag... So it has something to due with the memory. And since 4GB is definitely enough you should make a memtest. If memtest finds problematic sections you can think of buying new RAM... And the hardware is enough... Crysis 2 is not like Crysis 1... gdi...
Um, ..., and check the temperatures. If you graficcard gets to hot you will also get "lags", 'cause it temporarly decreases the clock speed...

But the OP doesnt mention Crysis 2 he only says "crysis" so maybe he is trying to run crysis 1.

I dont know why people buy alienware laptops. Huge waste of money for what you get. I have a friend who only buys alienware and spends about 2000 a pop and i laugh because i built a beefier machine for half the cost.

No offense to OP becuase if you dont know much about PC hardware then an alien ware gaming laptop might sound like an awesome deal but its a terrible deal

...another useless post... Nobody is interested in your opinion concerning alienware... This thread is about a problem, if you have nothing to help just shut up. And "never buy an alienware" is no help at all...
And Crysis 1 would never run smooth on his system, except OP uses resolution of 800x600... :D

Do laptops underclock themselves if they get too hot? If it takes about 2 minutes at load too overheat that would make sense why it lags after that point. If the memtest doesn't show errors as the other guy suggested, I'd try to give it some nice cold air. Make sure your fans are working as well.
