Killed the Blood Dragon at Bonestrewn Crest and nothing is happening. The dragon is still in tact, with skin and scales and all, and I didn't aborb the soul... Glitch, Bug or what?

its a respawn of a dragon you've already killed, they says its a bug, but currently no respawn dragons are granting souls.

Save your game. What have you tried? Have you walked away from it, and come back? Fast traveled away and back? Slash it a few times for good measure?

But it's not a respawn... I haven't killed a Blood Dragon before, and this is a Dragon Nest... there's a wall with a word of power there. And this is the first time i've ben here.

Ya, I fast traveled away and came back, Shouted at it, knocked it around... looted it Nothing. I have it saved before the dragon fight, i may go back and play it again. It was an epic fight though, awsome finishing move with my sword. oh well

How many souls did you already have stored at the time of the fight?

Not sure, and as for blood dragons i think they are just generic higher level dragons that started spawning for me around level 25. Only time this has happened to me was with a respawn. Could be you killed that particular walls dragon at some earlier point in time. They don't all just sit on the wall, most of the time they are flying around the site and will engage you a good distance away.

Nope, it's a glitch. I re-loaded and killed it again, i Absorbed the soul this time and I have 4 souls.

Perhaps youre not the Dragonborn anymore? :teehee:

Hmm i has the same problem, fast traveled and mr scaly dropped out of the sky and landed right next to me and was dead 15 seconds later
but no souling out.

so i loot em went back to my house in town and dropped the damn heavy bones off
fast traveled back and it was still there
so i gave it a few more hits for good measure
and walked on
about 3 minutes later a frost dragon came a calling, and a strange 3 way battle ensued between me the dragon a pair of dragons and a sabre tooth, well 4 if you wanna include the 2 mammoths.

Yeah, this happened to me as well.

It's a glitch, hopefully Bethesda will fix this soon so I'm not having to fight a dragon twice anymore... Not that I don't enjoy it.

That has happened to me. Just ignore it an move on. It doesn't matter. There is a endless supply of dragons who give souls. I had that happen to me It was a quest dragon and I got the same quest to kill it again. Just remember the dragons roam you might of killed it before while it was traveling.
I currently have 5 shouts and 11 saved dragon souls just move on.

Just happened to me (also at Bonestrewn Crest, just a regular Dragon). Reloaded three times and still no good.

To those people this has happened to: is it OK if you carry on playing? You can still absorb souls later on?

I just get worried with bugs like this - I don't want to carry on playing if there's a chance it'll screw up the rest of my game.

Or anyone found a way round it?

To the OP. I had Alduin raise a named dragon in the wild, and the exact same thing happened. It would sit there and look at me, but not attack or fly and once I killed it, it lost it's health bar, but otherwise stayed the same.

I just restarted my computer and reloaded the game several times. It eventually worked itself out.
