Advice Needed

Hi Guys,

This is my first time playing any of the elder scrolls series and im finding the game quite difficult in regards of all the stuff to do and were to start.

Also what charcter builds are the best to go for? I was looking at Archery and warriors possibly a paladin but im not sure how to do it and if it worth doing since it will have no range and an archer will have no melee.

Is there any images of all the armour and weapon sets?

Is there any good links or guides you guys have found ive been taking a look around but not found anything quite helpful overall just yet??

Also any advice for a first time player?

Regards

1. Use multiple save files so you dont play fo r50 hours then have a save mess up and not be able to load it. Have at least 5 back ups, I use 10. That way if anything really bad happens, I can go back anywhere from 15 mins to a few hours in time.
2. If you are not sure about a perk dont waste it, just save it and use it on something you know you will want to use.
3. when using perks just use them in 3 or 4 trees max. Dont try to be a jack of all trades you will not get the best percks in each tree.
4. I would suggest at the very least if you are not using magic to at least get the healing spell.
5. Dont fast travel, you will miss tons of random things. Only fast travel if you are maxed out on loot. Its best to walk everywhere.
6. When you find a carriage vist all of the major hubs asap, just get to them on your map.

If you want to roll a pally, I would suggest restore and destruction magic, Heavy Armor, and one handed weapon (skill tree). I go with maces but swords or axes are fine too. Just pick one and stick with it.

im not aware of any good guide, since Character creation is in the eye of the beholder

But prepare yourself to reroll countless characters until you have one where you feel 100%

Ive restarted 6 times until ive found what i was looking for , and im not new to the series, i had this in Oblivion, Fallout series, etc etc

The thing is the game offer so much choice its bound to give you headaches sometimes

But for general Knowledge about the game i can give you a link

you dont have to stick to a particular class, your paladin can use a bow, your archer can use a sword. i'd say instead of trying to be a particular class just play around and use what you like best.

Your paladin could also use shouts and magic, same thing with the archer and most arches also have a 1 handed weapon for close combat. Do what you like the most.

Hi Guys,

First of all thank you for the quick replys.

Which is better for a starter to play as ive started playing with 2 handers and tend to die a hell of a lot and is there a reason a paladin would take destruction spells?

Ive been told mages are the best way to go but they look a little boring in play and the main reason cloth armour would look terrible (Not Talking from experience as i have not seen any armour sets ive searched everywere)

Also i have found it really hard juggling whats in my inventory as its hard to know what items are useful what can be used for professions and stuff any tips for this? or does each class only want to do 1 proffesion?

I have to agree totally i would think 1 handed or 2 handed swords with healing/destruction and a mix of heavy and light armor. def light boots for easy sneaking
