Wife won't go home.

Post » Wed Dec 07, 2011 7:40 pm

I married Orla from the Temple of Dibella

When I tell her to go to the whiterun home she doesn't

I'll wait days and days but she stays in the temple of Dibella.

And Idea how to get her home?

I'm having the exact same issue. I married Orla, a priestess of Dibella in Markarth, and she has some bug where she won't leave the Temple of Dibella. When I speak to her there, she'll act as if our home is the Temple; she has options to cook a meal, move to a new home, or pony up with my share of her store's income. Even after asking her repeatedly to change homes to Breezehome (which she'll agree to), she never shows up even after sleeping in various locations for days waiting. When I go back to the Temple, there she is still, chilling like we never discussed moving.

I actually have the same problem too. My Argonian husband won't stay at my house in Whiterun. He keeps going back to Darkwater Crossing, where he lived before.

Just FYI for anyone reading this with similar issues, I filled out the form at http://support.gamesas.com/eng/email.asp to report this issue to Bethesda. I also sent a plain-text email regarding the issue directly to Bethesda support at support@gamesas.com (submitting the contact form mailer resulted in an error page, so I wanted to be sure they got the issue). Hopefully we can get a timely resolution on it.

I'm having the same issue as well.

I know there is a console command to add factions, but you need the faction's ID# in order to mess with it. I'd imagine getting the ID for temple of dibella and removing the association would fix it. Anyone have any idea as to how we could find this out?

I got a reply back from Bethesda on the bug email I sent them. They said they're investigating the issue and trying to track down the root cause to get it fixed. Pretty nice that they took the time to reply to let us know it's being acknowledged and dealt with.

Dude, you met her in a bar. What did you expect to happen. She's probably lying in a gutter somewhere or at some random guys house. Check the clinics and police blotters.

Just FYI, I tried the console command placeatme to force her to come to my house, but she just leaves immediately and goes back to the temple.
Like a previous poster said, if anyone can figure out the faction ID for the temple of Dibella faction, it would be too easy to just remove her from it. She wouldn't leave the house after that. Hopefully, Bethesda just fixes this issue cuz she is the only available wife in the game that appeals to me this go-round. Don't really want to marry an Imperial when I'm siding with the Stormcloaks.
Course, you gotta get her outta that robe, too, using the console commands, but once you do she's pretty appealing. Plus the whole being a priestess of Dibella thing really adds to the roleplaying experience.

Can you share the console command to change her outfit from the face-obscuring robes she wears by default? I like this idea.

Edit: For anyone interested, I have a feeling it involves a targeted additem command with the clothing you want her to wear, followed up with an equipitem command for the same itemid of clothing you gave her.

Have you tried wining & dining her...

Did you whisper sweet nothings in her ear ?

Did you offer her your paycheck every week ?

Did you offer to do all the cooking & cleaning ?

If the above didn't work for you. . .

Just dump the Witch and get a harlet !!

:blush2:

You are on the right track, but you don't need to first add the item to her inventory. Equipitem adds it and forces them to wear it. The hard part is knowing the item form id for the item you want.

1. Walk up to Orla, or any wife or character, really, and open the console with ~.

2. Click on her with your mouse to target her, and type [equipitem {item form ID}].

Personally, I like her to wear the Tavern Clothes, which is what the "Sultry Maiden" from Sheogorath's Daedric Quest wears, and also Hroki from the Silver-Blood Inn in Markarth. The Form ID for the Tavern Clothes is 000d191F. So, to get your wife dressed like a sixy barmaid, you open the console, click on her to target her, then type [equipitem 000d191F], without the brackets, of course.

Now, if only Bethesda would fix Orla so I can actually enjoy the benefit of having Orla as my wife before I finish the game.
