After you complete the main quest.....

SPOILER AHEAD:

Spoiler
Isn't Dovahkiin supposed to become king? or even ruler of the Empire? As I understand, the only real ruler of the empire has to be a dragonborn, wich mean you are chosen by the gods to lead the empire. Well after you complete it there isnt really happening anything. I understand that why they didnt take it all the way and continued it untill you sit on the throne, but no one is even mention it for you. The fact that you are the chosen leader is completely ignored.

It would atleast be satisfying if people greeted you as the future ruler of their lands, but it feels like your just like any other hero.

Its easily the worst ending Bethesda has ever made. Worse than the initial ending of Fallout 3.

That tradition died with Martin Septim. Titus Mede took the imperial city by force and established himself as the new emperor. Don't see why he would reinstate a tradition that makes him an unfit emperor..

anyway,..the DLCs might continue some sort of story fitting for a dovahkiin ;)

Well...
Spoiler
Titus Medes II died...
But yeah.. I don't see the Heir or the Elder Council putting back that tradition. Also, it would be strange to have a name-less, race-less, gender-less, archetype-less, personality-less, background-less Emperor.

I thought the point of having Talos as a dragonborn was to conquer Tamirel and rule it along with hunting dragons.

Mods would ask you if this could be moved to the Lore Section? I think it would fit in better over there.

There were no dragons in the time of Talos.

Actually, some Dragons (That helped the Empire) survived. But most of them become extinct by the times of Morrowind.

They weren't officially hunted neither.

Well, this just support my questen even more. This means that making Talos a dragonborn was not to fight dragons, but to conquer the Empire right?

Spoiler
I'd hate to become the ruler. It's much nicer being able to return to normality and roleplay how I want. I'm actually glad NPCs aren't running upto me constantly calling me a hero, etc.

Is it just me, or does it seem comically redundant to use spoiler tags in a thread titled after you complete the main quest?

But yea, very underwhelming reward, given the services rendered.
