Vault 1

Post » Fri Oct 02, 2009 4:35 am

I checked on the wiki, but didn't see anything and was wondering if there was ever a Vault 1 and if so, was anything ever mentioned about it?

Vault One was some sort of secret Vault filled with either Vault-Tec scientists or Enclave. I think.

the master's vault is widely considered to be vault 1. ( http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/LA_Vault

however, there are (as far as I know) no official canonical entries actually stating that the LA vault is vault 1.

@sharonhorste: You probably mean vault 0 (http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Vault_0

The LA vault is unnumbered, and the "Demonstration vault" theory seems to be more prevelent.

There is a vault 1, but its location is unknown.

I have a theory though, based on the lower vault numbers tending to be on the west coast, and higher vault numbers tending to be on the east coast that vault 1 would likely be in one of the western coastal states, or hawaii.

In a Mod, Vault 1 is a vault that is like Traquility Lane but was overthrown by Gnomes.

Vault 0, like most of Fallout Tactics, is of questionable canonicity.

In a Mod, Vault 1 is a vault that is like Traquility Lane but was overthrown by Gnomes.

You could also have said "in a fanfiction, Vault 1 is inhabited by pokemons and harry potter and the guy from twilight!" and it would have the same relevance to canon.

I think Vault 0 is one of the few elements of Tactics that is definitely bull, unless it was developed by a rogue element, which is extremely unlikely and implausible. Some elements of Vault 0 seem plausible (e.g a monitoring central Vault (however, the Enclave could presumably do this), the place to keep the US's best citizens (though it is unknown what the Enclave would do with them) and a massive supercomputer (other Vault ideas have involved supercomputers, this does seem plausible)). However, the intentions and certain other elements are definitely bull. The existence of the Midwest Brotherhood is definitely canon however, as confirmed by Scribe Rothchild. Vault 1, to my knowledge, has never been canonically mentioned.

Vault 0 was not an enclave controlled vault... It was controlled by folks outside of the Enclave conspiracy.

That would svck to be in a Vault in Hawaii. The whole thing would probably be submerged under the ocean by this point. It's inhabitants would basicly have no choice but to never ever open the door again, unless they all wanted to chance a mass exodus to the surface hoping they could hold their breaths long enough.

That's why every vault has copies of "Floating Homes and Seaweed" by Vault-Tec publications (mentioned in Fo1's manual)

I've always imagined Vault 1 being located in Mt. McKinley, Alaska.

In addition to protecting the population of Alaska, Vault 1 would have a very large armoury, stocked with 1,000 guns, thousands of ammunition for them, 100 units of T-51b Power Armour, 900 units of Combat Armour, and mounted Mark VII turrets. This would be used when Vault 1's population exits the vault to fight the Chinese if they invaded Anchorage again.

Given the current timeline of the Alaskan front, I think there would be a number of logistical problems in building vaults in Alaska... Not to say it couldnt be done (particulrly in the eastern parts), but unifinshed vaults in an area previously overrun by the chineese could make interesting plot points. Maybe a few military units have withdrawn into them to suribive the nuclear fire....

To be honest I allways though Vault 1 was the oil rig off the coast in fallout 2.
They do seem to lead you to belive thats where the government ran to when the bombs came down.
Though as we know time in these vaults does lead to things being misconcived.
I dont think we will ever truely know where vault 1 is.
Though we can continue to guess.
Im trying to think if it is mentioned in the fall out bible....

It is where they ran to, but the Enclave facility is not a Genuine Vault-Tec vault.

Remeber - You *Can't* survive the apocolypse unless its a genuine Vault-Tec brand vault!

The Master's bunker at Mariposa Military Base is thought to be Vault 1.

How should I know, I just crawled out of Vault 69 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. Detroit looked worse BEFORE the bombs fell... Now my Rust Belt is glowing in the dark. Maybe the Commonwealth or Ronto is nice this time of nuclear winter...

What? Thought by whom? That base had nothing to do with Vault-Tec.

No, thats not a vault. Its Mariposa Military Base (Origin of the BOS) - A Military installation. Vault Tek is a civilian outfit.
