Axe Bleeding Damage

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 4:01 am

Does anyone know how the 1h axe perk works? It says it causes additional bleeding damage. Does this mean its a Damage over time or is it just additional damage. does it occur with each hit or random or what?

Given the brutality of the close engagements, anything that isn't instant damage really isn't going to pay off :P

It would have been useful if enemies regenerated health naturally, during combat.

It happens over time. It's only truly useful in a battle of attrition.

Axes cause bleeding damage, meaning the enemy continues to take damage from your swings for a short while. The perk that enhances this increases the amount of damage the bleeding does. It's kind of like a "damage health" enchantment that doesn't count as an enchantment. It's good at lower levels when facing multiple enemies. You can reduce an opponent to near-death and they will bleed out and die while you move on to face your next opponent. At higher levels, it isn't quite as helpful as the bleeding damage usually won't be enough to finish off tougher enemies that you didn't already kill with one or two blows of your axe.

I started a topic on this before and didn't get any real good answer. If you're dual wielding axes, do you get two dots on the enemy? Total waste of one of your weapons if you can't.

Each axe should cause its own bleeding damage. And what are you guys referring to with "dots"?

DoT is short for Damage over Time.

I went back and looked at their usage of it and that's the logical conclusion I drew, but it didn't make sense to me to say "it adds a dot" and "you get two dots." Thus the confusion.

When turned into an acronym, it becomes a noun unto itself. There is no logic behind it, it's just gamer talk.
