Does finishing the Main Quest affect the rest of the game?

I want to know, if I burn through the rest of the main storyline now, will I have the rest of my game affected in some way (i.e. dragon spawn rate, access to quests, etc.)?

Please no plot spoilers.

Dragons actually seem to spawn even more for me now. But thats it.
