Buying Skyrim for the 360, is it still a good alternative?

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 1:40 pm

My PC just went on the fritz and no longer works, they are saying it will take 400$+ to repair it and I mine as well buy a new one, but with holidays coming up etc, I wont have the money to, is the 360 version just as good? Are the graphics still as good, the gameplay etc? and by gameplay I mean is it still a blast even with out mods?

I play it on 360 and I'm loving it. The game feels like it was built for a console.

If you really want to play it now... then I would say yes, it is easily worth another $60 dollars. You also could trade it in when you get your PC running and mods are out :)

*shrug* it's the same game, will have the same official content, probably a number of the same bugs, maybe some not on other systems and maybe not afflicted with problems other systems have.

overall i'd say it comes down to mods or lack of.

True and its always good to play and complete the game unmodded before you add mods and etc to it right?

I have this game for the 360. While that texture issue is still a problem and is noticeably annoying at times, it's rare enough that you shouldn't cry too hard over it. And the graphics look beautiful, in my opinion. Easy yes.

The only difference is graphics and some extra hotkeys on the PC version. If you don't care for the hotkeys then think of XBox like playing the PC version but on medium-high settings. If you have a PC that can handle ultra setting then yea its going to look better but tbh I'm enjoying the xbox one just fine.

I like it fine on the 360. Though if you primarily play on the PC then chances are you may not like it. (If what goes on here at the forums is any indication.) So before you buy it for the 360 I would suggest looking at some gameplay videos of the 360 version on youtube or elsewhere, or if you know somebody who has the 360 version maybe borrow it from them first or watch them play it. Or even rent it first to see if you'll find it ok.

Exactly. I have not had any problems what so ever and sometimes I actually forget I'm holding a controller in my hands.
