Alliance between Stormcloaks and Ragada?

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 4:57 am

If the Stormcloaks succeeded in their goal of an independent Skyrim, do you think Hammerfell and Skyrim would form an Alliance? It would make the most political sense, as they are both former Imperial, Man-Dominated provinces who oppose the Empire, but also *hate* the Thalmore. I could easily seem them making an Alliance, and maybe even taking High Rock along for the ride. Considering Beth's hatred of giving any sort of cannon when faced with an in-game multiple choice, it seems unlikely anything like this would ever happen, but I think it would be incredibly kick-ass if the Nords and Raga made a Anti-Elven, nationalistic Alliance. They might even have greater success in the war, because although stronger in terms of forces, the Empire was fragmented during the war against the Dominion.

Militarily? Sure. They have a common threat.

But a political union seems unlikely, given the huge culture difference.

If it came to beating the stuffing out of the Thalmor, I'm sure they'll put away most differences to do what men do best, kill elves.

I've actually been wanting to comment on this for some time. Hammerfell has been believed to lean more toward the Altmeri religious position in the past (emphasis on Satakal, revilement of Sep/Lorkhan, end goal = the "Far Shores", or Aetherius, etc.). That they have ended up one of the main stark enemies of Thalmor is... interesting.

I mean, hell, most of TES III: Redguard was fighting the agents of Tiber Septim the mortal.

Same idea, different method of getting out. They believe to find a "Walk Around", not "Blow it the [censored] up and hope it works."

Merrish idea, with mannish methods.

How many Christian soldiers do you think are theologians? Sure, the Redguards have the same general attitude towards the mundus, but 1) it's not exactly the same, and 2) who cares what your religious leaders are saying when a bunch of elves marched into your homeland and starting killing you left and right.

If the Stormcloaks win, Cyrodil would almost inevitably be invaded (and likely taken) by the Aldmeri Dominion. Then, it would seem only natural for a three-way alliance to be made between the remaining human provinces. Both Hammerfell and Skyrim have had negative experiences with the Thalmor, and High Rock would likely join them for kicks.

Orsinium would be a wildcard, however.

I had a similar thought.
I believe the Stormcloaks would be willing too temporarily ally with the Empire until the Aldmery Dominion was defeated in extange for unquestioned independance.I believe the Ra'Gada would act the same way.
A Stormcloak - Ra'Gada alliance also makes sense, especially since both the Redguards and Nord have a warrior-culture that distrusts magic on principle.

I don't believe Ulfric Stormcloak's head is so far up his own ass that he would be stupid enough to allow the strongest bastion of humanity left (the Empire) to be overrun by the Dominion. I would imagine that once Skyrim is independent, both sides will realize that their squabbles are meaningless in the face of the common threat and ally against the Thalmor.

Wow i was thinking the exact same thing since these two races kicked Thalmor butt during the great war...The Nords fought through heavy resistance to surround the imperial city during the battle of red ring and the redguard kicked the thalmor out of their province. I think they could politically align because they both hate the thalmor and believe the Empire betrayed them as for their religion i don't they would care that much since they're both warrior cultures who really just want to kill elves right now

The Orcs aren't numerous enough, nor organised enough, to be of any real importance. The Orcs are now nothing more than a culture connected by small "strongholds" that dot the moutnains of The Reach and High Rock.

An alliance between the Stormcloaks and Redguards would be the most likely outcome of a Stormcloak victory in Skyrim. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." While the Redguards and Stormcloaks may have different religious beliefs, they're both opposed to the Empire (for dropping out of the war, and for banning Talos worship, respectively) and are in the mood to do the thing that men do best- slaughter Elves.
