Enemies running away?

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 11:37 am

Ok so within the last couple hours I've noticed most enemies seem to say "I yield, I yield" or something close and just run away after I hit them a few times. I play on master difficulty and this is getting really old having to chase down enemies. I even have had some of the quest "bosses" do this instead of fighting me. Has anyone else had this issue?

I've had that happen once or twice but then when I resume combat after a few seconds they just run away again, even the strong ones.

I think its only temporary.

I've had wild animals run away from me and hide, after being wounded, but if i stick around they re-attack.

It may be temporary but when 90% of the enemies you fight no matter where you're at it really gets annoying and makes the game really lame.

Maybe an enchanted weapon with Fear?

EDIT: Or they're about to die and they give up. You have to finish them or they attack you again.

Yeah, I've had them just kneel also. Oh well guess I'll just get used to it.

You guys must be scarier than me, every single humanoid always bows down, gets up and attacks straight away. Even a naked guy I released from a jail cell without a weapon, got owned in one hit when he goes mental against the heavily armoured tank with a glowing sword. Seriously.. just don't... run, I'm happy for you to live..its WHY I let you out of the cell...I even just blocked for a whole minute because it was just too weird.

I really try to avoid killing humans where possible, I like to give people a second chance to rethink their ways. Without fail they jump me. Please.. just run away... I don't want to kill you, but if you make me... I swear to the nine divines I'm going to do so with extreme prejudice. What am I doing wrong... I want them to run awayyyyy

Are you playing a destruction mage and do you have the Intense Flames perk?

They did the same in Oblivion, too: unless they had 100% confidence, once their health had dropped to a certain level, they'd bugger off and try to find somewhere to hide. Sometimes very effectively, which was annoying when you spotted someone carrying some good loot who could run away faster than you could keep up...
