I need help creating a character for Skyrim. Specifically a Nord character. I don't normally play nords or any kind of human in elder scrolls and when I do it rarely lasts long or is done particularly well. I've been listening to the full theme music, paying attention to the lyrics and playing the main quest (although as an Altmer) now all of a sudden I've been hit with this massive wave of inspiration that is compelling me to play a "Dovahkiin" as opposed to just a "Dragonborn". I want to play as a full-on avatar of Shor, proud to be Man. At the same time I have no interest in playing as a walking, murdering steriotype.

I'm probably overreacting but this all feels so new.

So this thread isn't really "Give me advice on how to play a Nord" that's far too me-centric, I want to know how each of you would approach it and I'll steal my favourite ideas to refine my very rough outline of a character.

Go do combat. Join the Companions and one of the two mayor factions. (Get cured for the companions later on though... Hicrine isn't really Nordic) Concentrate on killing dragons and then after that is done go to a town, drinks lots of mead occassionaly kill a Giant or a runaway dragon and bore other people with the stories of how good you used to be.

Also, try losing a helm in a cave and then paying some adventurer to go get it for you... Nords seem to lose lot's of stuff in caves.

Put Skyrim above yourself. Justify your standpoint in the civil war. If you really think it through, the Empire has a far better chance of standing against the Thalmor if united with Skyrim. Even if you choose Imperials, continue to worship Talos. Be selective about the Daedric princes you help. Brawl whenever you can. Drink mead.

Step 2: Grind all skills to 100

Step 3: Get to Sovngarde in the MQ

Step 4: Enter the Hall of Valor

Step 5: Sit upon your throne for eternity. aka leave your PC/PS3/Xbox on forever.

Lol, You got so upset you actually had to write that ? I do apologise profusely. But if you plan on hanging round here for any sort of prolonged period, and your sensitive to information about Skyrim, it might be useful for you to know that you are and that :facepalm:
