The fact that MW is still being shouted on the board isn't a wild, mad eyed craze sweeping illogically over everyone, and calling it nostalgia means simply that you don't have to address the issues, which are being presented pretty consistently across the board.
Also, when people say that they love MW, they are saying that if Morrowind were released with Skyrim's graphics, weather effects, "radiant" AI and combat mechanics, they would prefer to play that over Skyrim.
They are not saying that Morrowind 2002 is, today, better in every aspect than Skyrim.
Morrowind gave gamers (and you probably needed to play it with mods to day to get past the graphical datedness) an incredible sense of atmosphere that they have simply not found in any other TES game.
But please, keep shouting nostalgia because it's now shorthand for "I am angry with you complaining about something that is new and I love and has amazing graphics".
