Hi everyone. This is my first post on this forum, and, in lieu of an introduction post... somewhere... I'd rather post some lore-related thing I found today, and hopefully not look like a fool by posting something that's been shown already.

The short version: the player sees the same pattern in Oblivion and Skyrim. Based on vague suspicions, I super-imposed the images.

The patterns pretty much line up quite nicely.

I could not find a good picture of the Scroll in Skyrim, but there are pictures out there for the one in Oblivion; I'm sure lore-mongers have seen and known it. There was also a topic I once saw somewhere about translating it, lost the link, couldn't find it again.

Is this laziness on the part of the developers? Or quite possibly, something indicative of some stunning lore-based new theory? I personally think there's two good crazy theories, the first being that all the Elder Scrolls have the same pattern on them, and/or the Elder Scroll pattern related to the game protagonists is the same.

The prophecy in Skyrim has nothing to do with the Thieves Guild though :S I think it's just laziness
