Skyrim Soundtrack

Post » Sun Oct 04, 2009 11:20 am

After watching the trailer for the hundredth time, I have found that I like it because of the music. It seems just as epic if not more epic than Oblivion's music. Course I would like to know what everybody else thinks.

I definitely think that the trailer music is very epic, but I don't think the entire soundtrack will be epic. There should be some relaxing, more peaceful music for exploration/towns, and hopefully we don't get epic music when fighting a mudcrab.

Well I meant for like the epic things like boss battles and so on, but I do love the other more peaceful tracks in Oblivion.

Speak for yourself. I want to treat each mudcrab as more epic than the last.

Is it possible to be LESS epic than Oblivion's music anyway?

I do love the trailer music indeed.

The music in the trailer is just amazing.

Epic, yet has an even deeper resonance.

It is definitely the first reason that this trailer is very very good.

Yes, I like the deep chanting sounds of the trailer music, and hope the style carries over into the game (if the trailer's music doesn't actually feature in the game, that is). Some more variation and distinctiveness would be good; peaceful and relaxing (as Indalus mentioned) in places, dark and foreboding in others, and dramatic in big battles and such. And sometimes silence, combined with ambient sounds, is most effective...

I actually liked the chanting in the unveiling more (with all the monks and Todd Howard). Hope that stays in =) .

I voted yes because I love it!

It uses drums (as does Morrowind's 'Nerevar Rising') plus it has the human voice too - that's perfect for the Nords - genuinely martial and as you say, epic :)

Someone said they liked the trailer for the music - but I like the combination. That's one very cleverly crafted piece of eye-candy
