Forsworn Briarheart > Elder Dragons?

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 9:35 am

Around the time I hit level 36, all of a sudden Forsworn mobs got obscenely overpowered, I'm talking about them doing close to 300 damage with a single attack.. this mainly happens with briarhearts. No other mobs seem to have changed, but the forsworn are all of a sudden ridiculously powerful. Why is this? It just doesn't make any kind of sense that I can take down a tough dragon, and then be killed in one or two hits by a guy with makeshift axes.

Edit: I also forgot to mention, despite having 100 sneak and having every talent within the tree.. even the regular, crappy "Forsworn" mobs are able to detect me before I can sneak up on them. What's going on?

Yeah I made a post about this last week. The Briarhearts are insanely strong and swing so fast there is very little stopping them if you don't FUS-RO-DAH them or something. The only real way I found to fight them was to just sneak attack them and pray it one shotted them, because even in Dragonscale armor fully upgraded he could put me down in three hits.

I found them [censored] powerful already at level 26. I'd rather fight three dragons at the same time than one of those guys.

That's what I have to do, fus ro dah and power attack them over and over.. generally they die before they can get back up. Something else I've noticed, I'm dual wield dagger/sword, and the "Critical Charge" ability is absolutely horrible. I'm still not even sure what it does other than make me clumsily swing around if I accidentally hit attack while I'm sprinting and drain my stamina. I'm not sure if it's a bug that you keep sprinting and swinging the more you click, but it's certainly annoying. I picked up the talent thinking it'd do one big hit, and then stop the whole thing, not force me to awkwardly sprint into my target in circles until I stopped sprinting all together.

@ ToJKa: The weird thing is I could wipe out camps of forsworn with no problem, not even sneak attacking. The second I hit 36, I wandered up to some forsworn and I was dead in seconds. Pretty confusing.. I don't understand what model Bethesda followed for enemies scaling this time, but it seems like they only applied it to the Forsworn.

Briarhearts are a pain in the butt to fight because they attack so quickly you have no time to heal. The best way to deal with them is to Fus Ro Dah them off of a cliff edge, you won't be able to loot them but you win the battle. Elder Dragons aren't a cakewalk either but they are a lot easier to defeat then a briarheart and you can plan how to fight the elder dragon, you probably won't have that opportunity with the briarheart.

You can rip their heart out via pickpocket, but I agree, Briarhearts and some of the Pyromancers are insanely overpowers, and the repeated 'sprint around in circles because the attack key prolongs it' bug is very irritating.

1v1 I dont have much issue with the briarhear.

Although theres that one place where you fight 2 hargraves & a briar heart...that can be a battle.

But I keep a heal in one hand and my ebony axe in the other! Power attack to stun...heal to regen stam
