Umbriel in Skyrim

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 4:14 pm

I've been playing a lot of Skyrim and I have been collecting books. The Great War was a great account of the history of the empire since the Oblivion crisis. I am happy they at least have one book on that, but it seems that the infernal city, which happened way earlier, is not mentioned in any books I have seen.

Has anyone found a book on the events of Umbriel?

Why does it seem like less of a big deal in Skyrim than it seems it should be?

Edit:

I'm talking about the Infernal City.

No, I mean the giant floating city that was featured in the elder scrolls books. Although it does have do do with Umbra.

nope, there's one quest that vaguely mentions a reference to Umbriel, but that's it. And it's not really that odd. Umbriel never flew over Skyrim. The Nords never faced Umbriel or it's zombie horde. SEcondly, gamesas still wants people to buy the novels, which is probably why there isn't anything amounting to a plot summary.

That they don't want to spoil it is likely. I hope the next game will be set somewhere that was at least a little bit affected by it. Maybe by then they would have more on it.

Book Spoiler (Small)
Spoiler

It was supposed to go down in the books as the Synod and the College of Whisperers who sent Umbriel back to Oblivion, I wanted that to show up in game.

Honstly, I think the College of Winterhold should atleast be slightly interested even though it happened over 100 years ago.

Saying it is spoiler-ish is BS imo. They could easily dropped just a few lines about a floating city. Even if it did not touch Skyrim it would have many reasons to be talked about. There are two threads on this same page I believe talking about it.
