Anyone else skip armor perks because of head slot?

But anyone else not like wearing head armor?

I play in First Person so I never see my character's head, or face for that matter.

However, there should be a choice between Shield and Helmet to get the bonus for wearing all the same armor. To that end, the Perk should not increase protection, it should increase Speed or Agility with a matched set. While having armor that matches could provide more protection, it seems to me that it would make you move easier as the pieces fit together better. I only say this as I was once helping a guy make some armor and when the pauldrons were not matched to the curaiss, my arms would not move as well or at all.

Even Speech would make sense as you would be more styling in a matched set, so people would want to talk to you more.

Bioware games have an option to make the helmet visible or not, which is great. I love Hawke's mage armor in Dragon Age II. I hate helmets that look like those [censored] wool-knit hats all the 'bros' wear.

Same thing for me so far all light armor helmets look like crap on my characters.

True.

Scaled helmet is the worst looking one. I wonder, didn't the devs check if they look so funny?

I took them. I keep my helmet off most of the time, but when I'm going in for a hard fight I put it on. There's already a mod out there that makes it so helmets don't display. The only downside is it does it for everyone, not just your character. I'm hoping for a mod that does it for just your character.

I LOOOOOOVE the steel horned helmet.

I recently beat the MQ and now I have reverted back to using legendary steel armor, best looking armour IMO

I wear the helmet then remove it in inventory before taking screenshots.

Heck in first person I can't see it anyway.

Same here.

I skipped them because I mix-matched heavy and light. I just got the base park of both trees.

This is interesting I would have never thought to do this.

I stopped caring about the same set armor perk once I started getting those masks. I just wish there was actually a reason to have a waterbreathing enchant to go along with the better prices and +20 carry. ;)

I don't use helmets either nor these perks.

Also, the Ebony helmet makes you look like an alien imo.

I don't pick up the matching set perk, but I do take the wear all heavy/light armor perk. Even if I am running around with no helm or a cloth hood...I dont NEED that perk point that much.

I enjoy the dragonpriests masks & the ungr helm (i dont think thats what it is called. It has horns!)

I never wear helmets, mostly because I'm vane. :P

EDIT: Don't really like the Nightingale Armor set either (/flameshield), it just feels very gaudy to me.

Add me to the list too. I've never once worn a helm in Morrowind, Oblivion or Skyrim.

Right, a bunch of us spend a lot of time creating a face, only to have it covered 99.9% of the time during the game. It's one of the things I liked about the ME series, that during the dialog scenes your helmet would disappear.

The down side is that there are some damn good helmets/head gear, not to mention the stuff you can make/enchant.

EDIT: There are a couple of helmets that look awesome, by the way. Try on a piece of forsworn, for example. :)

No but I do feel tempted. Since I mostly play in first person view it is not such a big deal, when I am in town or some npc is holding a speech etc I take off my helmet and use 3rd person view. Just to see my character and get a better "feel" of him or her.
