I need to carry more stuff

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 8:24 pm

I don't like to fast travel but on the way to my quests I get attacked by so much crap (a dragon or two), 10 wolves an army of bandits and pretty soon I've got 600 pounds of stuff and I'm only half way there to my quest. Does anyone know where I can find a magic enchantment that will let me carry more stuff? I don't want to use potions since they wear off too fast and then I might be stuck, just an enchantment. Lydia helps but its a lot of work throwing items to her all the time if I could just carry 800 pounds myself like in Oblivion life would be better.

They are random. You can keep looking in merchants. From memory only boots and jewelry can have that enchantment. Maybe gloves too but I cannot remember.

Activate the Steed Stone... Gives you 100 extra carrying capacity. It's found to the far north on top of a mountain. Oh and increasing your Stamina increases your carrying capacity I think.

Ah, as a fellow lootaholic I'm glad i wandered in this thread. I will have to seek out this "steed stone" you speak of....
And on a sidenote, i let out a little chuckle reading the part about carrying 800 lbs. Intended or not that was funny :-)

I'll have to find that, it would certainly be helpful. I think it's really crappy how we are now restricted to what pieces we can enchant with what. If I want to use all my slots so I can carry 1500 pounds then I should be able to do it. I can see damage mulitpliers or other game unbalancing things, but inability to carry my loot is just annoying. Oblivion you could keep adding to your strength attribute and get nice increases.

Yes stamina increases give you a whopping 5 carry weight increase, and stamina is kind of a rip off if you waste points increasing it compared to health and even magicka. No feather spells either. Why? How is it hurting the game to have that? I can see removal of a few things that they did, but making lots of loot and not being able to carry it is pretty lame.

Boy, I sure miss my Strength Attribute. 300 Encumbrance at level 1 and 300 at level 30...unless I find gear or, as you say, boost it by a paltry 5 every level feels totally wrong to me.

A blessing that gave me a +30 to stamina gave NO increase in weight limit. An amulet that with +30 stamina also gave no increase. I didn't bother trying to find the blessing again to try them together.

I did see (once) a pair of boots that gave a +30 to carrying, but the smith no longer had them for sale after I reloaded an earlier game (due to selling several of the wrong things by accident).

Find an ______ of carrying, disenchant it, and use soul gems to replaster the enchantment all over your gear.

There's a perk that adds 100 to your carrying capacity, but gues what, you have to be a pickpocket in order to get it...
